For beginners: main focus on on piano practice, learning new songs with incremental difficulty, and understanding of the music sheet. 2. For intermediates: main focus on intermediate/advanced songs with in depth comprehension of the music sheet. Skills you will acquire: 1. Beginners: you will learn how to play basic piano songs and obtain a basic knowledge of the music sheet. 2. Intermediates: you will learn how to play more complex songs and obtain a more advanced comprehension of the music sheet. Furthermore, you will learn the basis for piano music composition. Techniques for arranging and composition, from small groups to big band writing. - Music of the world: Discover music from all around the world, focusing on learning the styles, the history and the tradition of music from West Africa, Cuba, Brazil, Venezuela, Peru. We will focus on the rhythmic aspect of different genres of world music and we will create an understanding of the feel of each different style.

CURRICULUM I do not believe one method works for all students. I have used many different lesson books and resources over the years. For beginners I like to use Alfred method books for basics concepts and for Classical and Jazz Piano technique I like to use ABRSM books (grade 1-8). If my student feels that they can learn better from another books, I am glad to adapt my teaching strategies to their needs. Along with the lesson books below, I use a lot of supplemental materials based on the students' interests. I also aim to teach their favorite songs as soon as possible. I like to clearly explain and demonstrate piano technique. In this way, the students are able to apply the information on similar passages from all genres of music.
