Hi my name is Osian and I’m a cellist from South Wales. I’ve taught children of many ages and standards and I really feel privileged to be a part of someone’s musical and personal development. Music lessons can be a way of reaching the concert platform or it could be a way of expressing yourself and being creative, wether it’s a career path or not. I grew up playing and singing where my first priority was to fall in love with music and learn to perform it to the best standard that I could do and that’s what I’d like to encourage my students to aim for too. I’m a BMus Hons Scholar from The Royal Academy of Music and I’m not studying at a masters lever at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

I am 21 years old and I am currently a flute student at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I finished my studies in conservatories in France and obtained a license in music and musicology at the Sorbonne (Paris IV). I offer personalized lessons meeting the desires and ambitions of everyone, from the simple beginner to the confirmed musician. For the flute lessons, I offer exercises for sound, technique, adapted pieces. During music theory lessons, I can give tips for learning to read keys, rhythms, and offer dictations. Studying the theory allows you to learn to recognize chords, to calculate a score, to analyze the structure of a piece, to recognize the style from musical elements. It is possible to combine several lessons, for example half an hour of flute then a quarter of an hour of music theory.

This class focuses on the main aspects of classical guitar performance and education and will be adapted regarding the student's own knowledge, skills, and ambitions -knowledge of the fretboard -music reading; -music interpretation; -body and hand posture; -left and right-hand technique exercises; -memory exercises for playing by heart; -guidance in the organizing of the student's practice schedule; -preparation for admission exams in music schools (ex. Sweelinck Academy) and Music Conservatories; -preparation for classical guitar competitions and recitals.

Oud is a type of middle eastern guitar, similar to the lute. Its musical style varies from place to place. In this class I aim to teach the basics such as technique, tuning, some basic maqams (scales in western music) and sample songs to practice. This class is aimed for beginners who want to get started with this charming instrument.

Hello! Would you like to play the violin? I am a professional violinist located in Amsterdam, with teaching experience with children, young and adult ages. I create a personal and flexible plan for each student depending on your level. I am an open and flexible teacher so I can adapt to the student interests (learning different kind of music as classical, pop, film music, etc.), putting special attention to healthy postural habits. I got my Bachelor degree in Maastricht Conservatory in 2018, studying with Kyoko Yonemoto. Currently I am following the training on Alexander technique and baroque violin studies. Music Theory is a vital step in approaching Music Composition, especially when done for film and media. Therefore, I've designed this course to teach both topics as independent and inter-connected subjects. In this course, the student will learn about the foundations of Music Theory by studying melody, harmony, rhythm and timbre. To learn about Music Composition, we will then focus on how these work together to create a piece of music. Finally, we'll redirect everything we've learned and new knowledge on scoring a film scene. Moreover, we'll study pre-existing films and their music to understand the vital relation between image and sound.
