Become Fluent in Mathematics and Increase your Expected Grade

What separates high achievers from low achievers is their fluency in Mathematics. Mathematics is a language. If you are fluent in a language, you don't need a dictionary and can conjure up a sentence using your knowledge of nouns, verbs and adjectives.

Mathematics is similar. If you can remember the laws and equations, your fluency and final grades increase.

For example, do you use a dictionary when you speak your native tongue? Imagine if you don't need your formula sheet in mathematics.

Those who are fluent in a language are more confident in speaking it. This is the same with mathematics.

What these lessons do:
1. Identify the foundational gaps
2. Support and develop student's fluency
3. Increase their predicted grade

My past two schools in Hong Kong averaged IB scores of 41. These are the best in the world. In GCSE, a student was never predicted below a 6. I have a Master in Aerospace Engineering and a Master in Education. I was previously a qualified teacher in Hong Kong for 5 years before moving to Spain. I want to use my skills to help.

Reviews (1)

Michael has been a great teacher to our son for the past three months and we thoroughly recommend him based on our experience. His practical approach and friendly style made it easy for our son to quickly connect.
**MATHEMATICIAN, BUT NEED SUPPORT CATCHING UP WITH ISGCE MATHS BECAUSE YOU'RE A SECOND-LANGUAGE ENGLISH SPEAKER** As a secondary mathematics teacher at a British school in Madrid, a challenge faced by most of our students is adapting to learning mathematics in their second language, English. These lessons will develop: 1. Comprehension of instructions 2. Mathematics confidence 3. Importance of the real-life implications of mathematics Background: 5 years in Hong Kong working for two of the best private IB Schools in the world, Masters in Aerospace Engineering and in Education.

School Support for Mathematics (ESO and Baccalaureate) and University (1st YEAR)
Five years of experience in the mission of providing school support to ESO or Baccalaureate students (Sciences or Applied Social Sciences), first-year university students and students of the IGCSE, Alevel and IB programs (Ed Excel or Cambridge), In addition to the classes themselves, I offer permanent online support for students' queries via WhatsApp (especially important during study periods prior to exams), guidance in the use of technological tools (programs, videos or web pages) that can contribute to improving the student's training in Mathematics. We educate to train the student in Mathematics. University courses I have recently provided support for: Business Mathematics for students from IE, Rey Juan Carlos University, European University of Madrid, CUNEF and Carlos III. I also provide support for the programs of Probabilities and Statistics, Financial Mathematics and Mathematical Programming (experience with students from the School of Economics of the Autonomous University of Madrid).

Enrique Verdeguer
Mathematics for high school students of any level
Hello! My name is Enrique. I am a Journalism student and I am here to reinforce any needs you have with your Mathematics classes. I am always attentive and willing to work to improve the aspects that you need to address in more depth, and to further improve everything that you are already good at. I am very good at mathematics and working together I am sure you will improve in a very short time.

Pilar Segovia
Reinforcement of school classes: preparation for exams, help with homework and reinforcing doubts about the subject.
My classes are dynamic, well organized and prepared. I adapt to the student's taste, depending on their priorities and aspects that they want to emphasize more about the certain subject. We will work on the different points that the student wants to improve and reinforce.

Verónica
All subjects from 1st - 6th of Primary Education
I am studying 3rd year of Primary and Early Childhood Education, at the Pontifical University of Comillas. Since first I have been doing internships. I have taught all the Primary Education courses. I am getting the C1 in English this year. The methodology that I am using right now with the children is quite dynamic and playful. But at the same time the child is learning. I always make use of new technologies as long as I do not stop using the traditional method, of pencil and paper. I believe that not only children have to adapt to us but we should adapt to them. Each one is a totally different world. I have a lot of patience, it is one of my virtues and I am not worried about having to explain a content 3 times, if I see that the child also does his / her part. I have chosen the career of Teaching by vocation, since I was little I have always wanted to be a teacher. Right now I am doing my internship at the Fray Luis de León school, teaching children in the 6th grade of Primary Education. I have taught children in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and currently 6th. I would have no problem doing the classes online. I would only need to know a little about the child, about the parents, so that I can have the opportunity to meet them in turn that they have the opportunity to meet me. The price would already be seen. Depending on everything a little. Thank you very much for the time you are spending reading this. Greetings, Verónica Gil Merchán.

Support classes / English for beginners or advanced.
I have experience as a private class teacher (if they need it I can give references), being able to teach mathematics, language arts, English, physical economy and chemistry at all ages. Also, my level of English is C2, so teaching this language (or giving the classes in English) would not be a problem. I really like children, and I get along very well with them, and of course with people closer to my age as well. If necessary, she could partially babysit after class. Everything preferably in the afternoon / weekend. I hope I can be of help!

Math, economics and science classes at home or online
I am Sara, graduated in economics-mathematics and statistics. I have been teaching private classes in science, economics and syntax subjects for six years with good results, and I also teach courses in education, tourism, economics, engineering, etc. related to mathematics. I also help elementary school children with homework. I consider myself a dynamic, hard-working and patient person. For me it is very important to transmit my passion for science and teaching. Before starting I like to know the difficulties in deciding how to approach the classes in a personalized way because each student is different.

Benoit
Private online mathematics lessons - Qualified and experienced teacher
I am a qualified and experienced mathematics tutor. Graduated from the Free University of Brussels in 2011, I started my career by teaching remedial courses in different schools in Brussels. I then specialized in individual academic support by following educational training at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have been giving private mathematics lessons daily for over ten years. The students who follow my private lessons benefit from personalized support. The first session is devoted to an in-depth assessment of the student's mathematical knowledge. The objective is to detect its weak points and understand their origin in order to adapt my courses to its needs. I develop a tailor-made remediation program for each of my students aimed at filling each of their gaps. Over the course of the sessions, the student builds a solid foundation for learning and regains self-confidence. At the same time, I help him acquire a work methodology that allows him to gradually become autonomous in his studies. I have a perfect knowledge of the mathematics program of the College and the High School (from the Sixth to the Terminale). During my formative years, I studied and developed many techniques that make it easier to learn math. The strength of my pedagogical approach lies in my ability to explain in a simple way everything that the student finds complicated. I am passionate about this job because it gives me the opportunity to guide dropout students on the path to success. It is a real pleasure to see them evolve and come to terms with the fantastic world of mathematics. I provide my private lessons in Limoges (at the student's home) or remotely (online via the internet). My distance learning courses take place on an interactive online whiteboard. This board is specially designed to promote student/teacher interaction on the internet. Thanks to this educational tool, my online courses are as effective as home courses. The student only needs an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or smartphone to take advantage of it.

Reza
Tutor for Math, Physics, and Mechanical/Material Engineering courses
I hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and currently work as a post-doctoral researcher in the Aerospace Engineering Faculty at TU Delft (Delft University of Technology). My extensive teaching experience covers a wide range of engineering courses, including: - Mathematics: algebra, linear algebra, probability, calculus, differential equations, intellectual math, and advanced engineering mathematics. - Mechanical Engineering: Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of materials, Mechanical design, control, vibration, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Heat transfer, Engineering drawing, Applied Mechanics, Composite Structures, Flight, Machine Elements, Manufacturing, 3D printing, and more. - Physics: mechanics, momentum and energy, electricity, charge and current, electric and magnetic fields, waves, particle physics, nuclear decay, astrophysics, cosmology, oscillations, etc. - CAD/CAM Software: Autocad, Solidworks. - Mechanical Design Packages: ANSYS, APDL programming, ABAQUS, MATLAB, Symbolic MATLAB, LS-DYNA. My research and teaching interests are diverse, including: • Additive manufacturing • Mechanical metamaterials • Acoustical metamaterials • Electromagnetic metamaterials • Aeroacoustics • Soft matter and soft robotics • Fatigue and fracture mechanics • Experimental mechanics • Multiscale numerical modelling • Biomaterials • Porous materials • Manufacturing of medical devices and implants • Deep learning • Image processing • Topology optimization • Origami and Kirigami structures • Self-folding and self-assembly structures • Tissue engineering • Permeability in porous materials • Fluid-Solid Interaction I understand that not all teachers excel in teaching Engineering and Mathematics courses and explaining their importance to students. Courses with strong mathematical backgrounds may become boring for students who lack a solid mathematical basis. To address this, I take a student-centered approach, starting from the basics to actively engage all students, including those with weaker mathematical backgrounds. I also provide practical examples to demonstrate the real-world significance of what they are learning, inspiring and fostering their interest in the subject matter. If you have any additional questions before starting a class, please feel free to ask me. I am here to assist! :)
