Entry-level lessons teach about rhythm, melody, harmony, duo play, replay, music listening and ear training, music notation, and sight-reading. Learning depends on your life experience and abilities. You can learn some days, some others may develop skills some years. I sing a little on a weekly bases. I have songbooks of some hundred songs. I'm the only mountain dulcimer player in Estonia. I sometimes play the tenor or bass recorder, digital saxophone, melodica, digital piano and other electronic keys at home. I record music at home. Learners can continue their studies in a music school or studio. Musical literacy is the reading, writing, and playing of music, as well as an understanding of cultural practice and historical and social contexts. Kopli is famous for bohemians and fine art. Young musicians can rent a music studio at the youth centre.

I have played the flute for more than 20 years, and have been teaching since 2011. I offer flute lessons to children aged 8 and up, and adults at all levels from beginners to post Grade 8. I also teach recorder to younger beginners- I find this is a good stepping stone for younger children as it's more comfortable for smaller beginners to hold, and easier to make a sound on. Learn to pass exams or just for fun- many of my students achieve highly in ABRSM and Trinity grades, but some prefer not to take exams and this is fine too. Whatever your level, one to one tuition means that I can tailor my teaching to your needs as a flute player, and my teaching takes into account the reasons you learn an instrument, encompassing a wide variety of repertoire. I also teach music theory- lots of students come to me to help prepare for Grade 5 theory, and I also teach higher theory grades.

With my bachelor's and master's degrees as well as my bachelor's degree in musical education from the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and years of experience playing the flute, I am well prepared to pass on my passion for music to anyone who wants to learn to play the flute. Over the last ten years, I have taught students of all ages - from children to teenagers and adults - to play the flute, recorder, alto flute and piccolo. I have developed a flexible and individually adapted teaching concept that responds to the needs of each individual - be it for fun, to prepare for competitions or to prepare specifically for entrance exams. I teach instrumental lessons (face to face from my Music Studio and online) on flute, piano, singing, saxophone and clarinet, as well as music theory. I also offer general musical skills sessions for young children who are not quite old enough to learn one specific instrument yet. I have experience as a Music Teacher and Lecturer for schools and colleges, so I also offer help with GCSE and A-Level Music. I attend regular Safeguarding training and I have an advanced DBS on the update service. I also have experience working with children who have special educational needs and EHCP’s. Learning music and an instrument as well as being part of a group or ensemble, is about much more than becoming a performer. The skills and techniques learnt, are incredibly versatile for use in other subjects as well as being valuable life skills. I choose repertoire of various genres for students to explore different sounds and styles, with some being quicker to learn but effective, to build a more instant satisfaction and confidence within the group, while other pieces are more technical, allowing students to challenge themselves. As well as being a solo Flautist, Singer, and Saxophonist, I am part of an acoustic Classical Flute and Guitar duo, a Folk duo, a Jazz ensemble and a Folk Rock band, performing at weddings, private functions, festivals and events.
