The Breath, it's the basis of everything we do, the source of life and the start of singing. I believe in a genre neutral method of breathing as a base of speaking and singing. No jazz, pop, musical or classical 'technique' but a natural method which taps into the natural strength of the body, which results in a huge window of opportunities. One can sing however, whichever and whenever one wants, unbound by genre defining methods and techniques. My classes are different depending on your level and age. With children from 7 to 12, we start by doing easy vocalization and start training the ear with intonation, we then have fun singing your favorite songs. With teenagers, I also start with some vocalization, a little more elaborate. Depending on the student's capabilities, we start establishing a comfortable range for them and then proceed to singing. For my older students ideally, I divide our lesson into 2 sections. We work on respiration and how the diaphragm works. We do scales and arpeggios and work on intonation.
