I am Thijs (30) an experienced drummer and musician, with a wide range of musical interests. Studying jazz drums under the wings of Lander Gyselinck at the KASK/Conservatory in Ghent. In addition, I have followed masterclasses and lessons from/with Joey Baron (US), Kendrick Scott (US), Corey Fonville (US) and Stéphane Galland (BE). I am also active in various bands/groups. My lessons, depending on the level, focus on both the fundamental building blocks of drumming and music as a whole. These building blocks together with the student's interests form the curriculum, so that it meets the student's wishes as best as possible. I also teach music theory/music theory. Some aspects of this are also offered during drum lessons. In the end, it's you who will enjoy it the most, so that's what I'm focusing on! Through my 3 years of teaching experience I found out that learning music is supposed to be fun and the clarinet is the perfect instrument for discovering it that way! I give lessons for beginners in French, English or Polish. I approach each student individually and focus on good basic technique and developing the student's creativity and musicality. The Contrabass is a marvelous instrument: powerful, subtle, demanding, astonishing. Graduated from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris in Jazz specialty and teacher (private individual / replacement in conservatory) for 4 years, I suggest you dive into the heart of his universe. For this I appreciate relying on a flexible method putting the passion and envy of my students at the forefront. My horizons: -The jazz double bass (walking bass, improvisation, sounds, repertoire, rhythm, theory ..) - the "general" technique (body position, right hand, left hand, flexibility, etc.) -the classical double bass (sound of the bow, phrasing, study of pieces ...) - "contrabassistic" culture (operation of the instrument, the undisputed masters, the repertoire in the broad sense ...)
