Learn Basic Swedish for immigrants/expats to the country

I have worked fulltime, for the past 15 years, as a language teacher and translator. I was born in Sweden, to Danish parents and live with an Englishman. I teach said three languages to both private and commercial clients, placing great emphasis on client needs and abilities. Cultural knowledge is also very important to the understanding of any language and is therefore included in all courses. The dreaded grammar is the fundamental building block to a language, but I try to make it as fun as possible.......as well as the homework and self-study.

I am a Swedish native speaker and general language enthusiast. Besides Swedish, I speak English, German, Spanish, French, and Italian. Having learned 6 languages myself, I am 100% convinced that I will successfully teach you Swedish(in a fun and relaxed manner)! Unless you're a very advanced student, we will work with learning materials created by some of the best publishers for language learning in Sweden. These materials serve as a red thread for our course that introduces new words, grammar, and exercises in a good pace and interesting manner which keeps you engaged and motivated. Furthermore, I show you swedish food, music and places. On top of that, I introduce you to the best technological tools (homepages and applications) to boost your language learning and take it to the next level! Another important factor for me is having a personal connection. Unless you prefer to "stick to business", which is fine as well, we typically start our classes by talking about how the weekend or preceding weekdays have been. I don't see my students as a resource to be extracted, but as people for whom I develop a genuine interest. I offer tailored classes as well, but this is my "budget version" where I don't spend any time planning the class. This class is suitable for the independent learner with at least basic knowledge of Swedish. You bring any material that you would like help with, any topics that you would like to talk about, or any questions that you have about Swedish, and we talk about them spontaneously. I can also help you with pronunciation - both "in the moment" and through specific exercises. Right now I cannot take on any new students, but possibly I will be available in summer.
