Do you want to learn the basics of drawing? Or are you already past that level? Do you want to draw on paper (with pencils) or on a screen? Do you want to learn the basics of 2D animation? All for a very reasonable price? We can do it! Nice to meet you, I'm Daniel. I'm a (private) art teacher, I'm also a freelance artist and have been working as one for about 7 years. I'm looking for students in Utrecht, I have a teaching space available in my apartment (I can share my address when you contact me), but am also able to travel to your desired space within the city. I can also teach via webcam, but I do recommend my in-person classes, seeing as they're more immersive and educational. I unfortunately do not speak Dutch (yet), but am confident we can overcome any potential language barrier we come across. I have the most experience in teaching teenagers and preteens, so I think we would definitely be a good match if you're a parent or guardian looking for a teacher for your child. This course is aimed at those wishing to improve or discover the disciplines of traditional and/or digital drawing. I have a bachelor's degree in computer graphics, animation and illustration since 2019. I teach drawing in general and the use of the Adobe suite (including Illustrator and Photoshop, the most popular digital drawing software). Would you like to be able to illustrate the worlds and stories you imagine? Do you want to learn how to create characters for a video game, animation, children's story, comic or in any format? Or would you like to be able to draw your favorite characters? If you have those concerns, I would love to help you. I like to focus the classes in such a way that the current drawing level of the student is not what is important. The room for improvement will always evolve. I like to take my classes towards character design, towards general things like the psychology of color and shapes, since they are assimilable and highly useful concepts, independent of the level of drawing. For this reason, my classes are aimed at all ages and drawing levels. I also try to focus them on the preferences and tastes of each student, showing them that everything they like, they like for a reason, that nothing is left to chance and that they can also understand how to make their drawings reflect what they want to convey. Photoshop is a powerful app for photographers. As a photographer, you’ll need to be able to sort through the many complex features that will help make photos better. I’ve designed this course as a practical guide to Photoshop that’s specifically made for learning photographers. You will learn how to make selections, create masks, retouching portraits and use advanced techniques to not only improve photographs, but to turn them into entirely new images.

Photoshop is used differently for painting and drawing than for photography retouching. I will show you how to use all the tools of the program, but I will also teach you how to think about game art, concept art and illustration, whether it is for character design, creature design, environment design or prop design. I will also teach you all the fundamentals that are essential in the industry, such as anatomy, perspective, colour and light, and composition. After graduating from l'École Émile Cohl with a bachelor specialised in Game Art, I have had the chance of working with more than 15 different studios of video games, board games, trading card games and tabletop RPGs, creating concept art and illustrations for them. Now an Art Teacher, I use my experience and skills both as an artist and as a teacher to share with you all my knowledge of the subject and of the industry.
