In addition, although this course will aim on developing the maximum potential of every student, the main goal will always be to ensure that the student keeps his interest and love for music and piano. Experience: I started playing piano at the age of 8 years old. During this 10 years of learning I had the opportunity to study next to renowned French pedagogue Jacques Rouvier (teacher of Arcadi Volodos, Hélène Grimaud, David Fray...) at the Mozarteum University. In addition, I had the chance to have different masterclasses with distinguished Michel Bérrof, David Fray, Pavel Gililov, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden... I will be more than welcome to help anybody in any field in music. I can fluently speak French, Spanish, Catalan, English. As a result, lessons can be in any of those languages. No matter whether you want to improve your classical piano skills and dive deeper into the repertoire from the old masters, learn how to play your favourite song, or even develop improvising and/or composition skills, this is the right class for you. Depending on your preferences and level I can provide you some repertoire ideas and give you inspiration for new pieces. Of course your own suggestions are always welcome. If you are interested in having a good foundation of musical knowledge I can teach you music theory as well and make some fun exercises with that. As a classical pianist teaching is a nice balance in my everyday life. Every student brings his or her own fields of special interests as well as issues which need to be worked on with a pedagogue. I am a trained clarinetist, saxophonist and pianist as well as a music teacher. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.
