Basile, bassist and double bassist, started playing electric bass in 2001 at the age of 7 at IEFAR (European Institute for Rhythmic Arts Training) in Montpellier. He took lessons there until the age of 13 and then continued with a private tutor until he was 16. In 2012, he attended jazz workshops with pianist Pierre Coulon-Cerisier and continued to learn bass occasionally with bassist Alfred Vilayleck. It was in 2013 that he joined the jazz department of the ENM in Villeurbanne (Lyon) where he learned the double bass, and took lessons with musicians such as Pierre Baldy-Moulinier, Thierry Many, Gilbert Dojat. A great first lesson, Basile is very attentive and fulfilled exactly the expectations I had, that is to say giving me a more academic framework for my beginning passion for this instrument. I have plenty to work on until the next class!

Student at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels offers piano lessons (jazz, classical or improvisation) for all ages and all levelsMy method is based on serious and rigorous practice (while taking into account the student's ambitions) as well as learning most often by ear. This is indeed how music can be truly integrated over the long term.
I would be delighted to work with serious and determined students.

Thijs
Private drum lessons - various styles - for all levels (NL & EN)I am Thijs (28), an experienced drummer and musician, with a wide range of musical interests. Studying jazz drums under the wings of Lander Gyselinck at the KASK/Conservatorium in Ghent. I also took master classes and lessons from/with Joey Baron (US), Kendrick Scott (US), Corey Fonville (US) and Stéphane Galland (BE). I am also active in various bands/groups.
My lessons, depending on the level, focus on both the fundamental building blocks of drumming and music as a whole. These building blocks together with the student's interests form the curriculum, so that it meets the student's wishes as best as possible. I also teach music theory/music theory. Some aspects of this are also offered during drum lessons.
In the end, it's you who will enjoy it the most, so that's what I'm focusing on! For questions or more information, don't hesitate and send me a message. Let's kick it!

Private lesson in electric bass, all styles of musicFRENCH:
I have been in music since I was 5 years old, I decided to make it my job and so I studied at the Brussels Conservatory (Master level). I specialize in jazz but my favorite field remains Groove music. I also went through a lot of styles (rock, funk, pop, reggae,...) during my years of learning the bass.
To get an idea of my playing style, my main influence in Jazz bass is Dario Deidda.
I'm very inspired by "underground" bands from Brussels like Stuff, ECHT, Tukan, Jean-Paul Groove, Ciao Kennedy,...
Abroad I could mention Athletic Progression, KUF, Takuya Kuroda, Vels trio, Vulfpeck (and dozens of others!)
Without forgetting the classics like Parliament, Earth Wind and fire, PUSH, Jamiroquai,...
I don't have a particular method. Unless my student requests it, my lessons are done by feeling according to his desires and his objectives. We can very well just learn pieces and at the same time deepen the technique and the knowledge of the music if requested. The goal is to have fun.
ENGLISH:
I started music when I was 5 and later decided to make it my job. I studied in Brussel's jazz Conservatory (Master).
I'm specialized in Jazz but my roots are in Groove music. I also learned to play different styles (rock, funk, pop, reggae,...)
To have an idea about my way of playing, my main influence about bass on Jazz is Dario Deidda.
I'm inspired by Brussel's "underground" scene with bands like Stuff, ECHT, Tukan, Jean-Paul Groove, Ciao Kennedy,...
Worldwide I dig into bands like Athletic Progression, KUF, Takuya Kuroda, Vels trio, Vulfpeck (and many many more).
And don't forget the classics like Parliament, Earth wind and fire, PUSH, Jamiroquai,...
I don't use a specific method to teach. Unless my students ask for it, my lessons are focused on his expectations/objectives. We can simply learn how to play a tune and at the same time dig into the technique and music knowledge if it's what you want. The main goal is to have FUN.

Victor
Student at the Brussels Conservatory gives guitar and bass guitar lessonsHello, my name is Victor, I am 24 years old and I am currently a student at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. I play in different musical projects with artists such as Youssef Swatt's, Lena Deluxe, Bim Boom Bap... My teaching focuses on spontaneous and mainly oral learning of music. There is no need to know music theory. I will discuss some theoretical notions depending on what we are working on together, and your curiosity on this subject. I would emphasize listening, rhythm and playing in pairs. There will be part of the work devoted to instrumental technique (how to get a beautiful sound out of the instrument, how to play without getting tired or injured, what are the different ways of making a guitar/bass guitar sound depending on the style) , and the rest of the time we can work on pieces, tackle improvisation, group playing, composition, or other subjects depending on your requests.
I offer a free lesson to see where you are, and so that we can discuss your desires and what I can offer you. Please feel free to message me with any requests.
My musical journey:
I am currently a student at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in jazz and before that I spent 2 years at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Lille in jazz bass/double bass and classical double bass. I also graduated from EF2M in Tourcoing.
I started music at the age of 8 with the piano, then I turned to the guitar at 12 and then to the electric bass at 16. When I entered the Lille Conservatory, I also took up the double bass.
I practiced several styles: jazz, rock, blues, metal, classical, soul, funk, etc... and the fact of having played several instruments helps me to have a more global vision of music, and to find what is interesting in each of the styles. This openness I want to pass on in my classes.
I have several years of stage experience with different projects, and I have also worked in the studio, notably with the house music artist Bellaire.

Jazz Double Bass / Improvised Music and Electric Bass lessonsThe Contrabass is a marvelous instrument: powerful, subtle, demanding, astonishing.
Graduated from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris in Jazz specialty and teacher (private individual / replacement in conservatory) for 4 years, I suggest you dive into the heart of his universe.
For this I appreciate relying on a flexible method putting the passion and envy of my students at the forefront.
Meet, establish a dialogue and move forward together towards a common goal: to have fun while making progress!
My horizons:
-The jazz double bass (walking bass, improvisation, sounds, repertoire, rhythm, theory ..)
- the "general" technique (body position, right hand, left hand, flexibility, etc.)
-the classical double bass (sound of the bow, phrasing, study of pieces ...)
- "contrabassistic" culture (operation of the instrument, the undisputed masters, the repertoire in the broad sense ...)
I am also an electric bass player (another wonderful instrument) graduated from the Marne and Chantereine conservatories.
My method remains the same and I love to teach (and constantly learn) the greatest number of styles, repertoire, ranging from Rock to Funk through Pop, hip hop and Cuban music.
All levels and all ages welcome!
Classes can be taught in French, English or Italian.
Robin.
