Our private lessons are usually divided in this order: 1. mental and physical check in + grounding in your instrument (which is your body) and stretching, shaking loose etc. I teach you how to stretch your tongue and why it is important. 2. Breathing! I will teach you how to breathe to your diaphragm. I will teach you how to create a breath support by breathing. This ensures that you will need much less breath and can produce much more sound! This can work wonders and I want you to experience and feel that. 3. Warming up the voice. We are going to make sounds! First we are going to wake up your voice. I will let you feel the difference between your chest voice and your head voice (and everything in between). I will teach you how to make sounds safely, sing safely without damaging your voice. I will teach you how to sing higher and lower. When I see that your muscles tense while singing, I will give you techniques to relax them. We are going to make many different sounds with a piano as accompaniment. I will explain to you why we make each sound and what this does to our voice. 4. Singing a song. You can choose a song that you like to sing. We can also choose this together. I am an Italian soprano, graduated from the Dutch National Opera Academy. I work as a soloist as a freelance singer, and I teach singing to students of different levels and ages for many years. The most important thing during my lessons is to help the student find a healthy and comfortable way of singing! During the first part of the lesson, we will focus on Technique and breathing, while during the second part of the lesson we will focus on the repertoire chosen together with the student, applying the aspect of the technique that we worked on previously in the lesson.

From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.
