I take it very seriously and try to tailor my teaching to every student that I have. I can use my experience as a proffecional musician to make you progress fast and focus on things not every teacher knows from books. In this course we will focus on technique as well as creativity and improvisation (one of the most enjoyable aspects of playing drums). Do you have any other percussion instrument you'd like to expand your knowledge on? I can offer you percussion lessons as well since I have a lot of experience in playing percussion as well. If you want to study with me I can provide a stable program for development for fast results including scores, exercises, etc. About me: As well as teaching, I'm mainly a performer of music - I've been playing drums with different bands as well as classical percussion for more than 15 years now in many different settings. In the last years of my development I've taken a closer look to jazz, pop, hip hop and rock music. I can use my experience to find good qualities in my students and develop them as much as possible. Apprendre par l’expérience du corps permet d’aborder toutes ces choses d’une manière dirigée et facilement accessible La compréhension du rapport entre son et corps, c’est surtout comprendre que par l’apprentissage on unifie des éléments séparés. Les signes et les idées musicales qui se trouvent sur la partition, les mouvements respectifs de nos mains, les sons produits ensuite et entendus par nos oreilles forment un tout. C’est ce tout qui s’exprime comme musique, c'est-à-dire quelque chose de plus que ces éléments pris séparément. Comprendre ce rapport, c’est sentir plus nettement comment la musique nous touche et comment l’on peut toucher les autres avec la musique.

Hello! My name is George and I'm a fourth year student in jazz guitar at the Codarts conservatory here in Rotterdam, though my guitar journey began at the age of nine. I have been teaching a variety of students of different ages and backgrounds for the passed two years. My aim as a teacher is not to overwhelm students with theory and sight-reading. Instead, I prefer to teach you practical ways to develop your own musical interests. This course is for anyone from complete beginners to advanced students, from lessons that focus completely on classical music to lessons that include or focus on the basics of jazz/pop. If you like to sing, we can also work on the basics of jazz/pop vocal, so you can learn to accompany yourself at the piano. In our lessons, technique will be an inherent part of the training, as well as analysis, basic music theory, and efficient ways of practicing music. In a nutshell, I am a professional pianist, vocalist, lyricist and blogger. Since 2014, I have taught in various music schools, teaching piano, ensemble, jazz vocal, and solfege. On a more elaborate note, I obtained my Master of Arts in classical piano, summa cum laude, at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent (KASK) in 2017, and studied as a Fulbrighter at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington USA during the 2019-2020 academic year.
