Vocal technique lessons to (re)discover yourself through singing

The singing lessons allow to develop the voice pose, the development of the artistic personality, the vocal technique and the development of the voice through various styles. Learn to master the head voice, chest voice and mixed voice as well as the various types of voice: belting, saturated voice, falsetto,... in order to be comfortable in the different styles! The body plays a central role in the singing technique. Thus, bodily and sensory work in space, as well as, for some, the development of bodily presence on stage, are themes addressed during the lessons. We will also work on the ear, the accuracy and the improvement of the rhythm, as well as the improvisation and the creation of songs for advanced students who want it.

My name is Maxime I am 25 years old and I am a professor of song, guitar and singer-songwriter. I offer accompanying acoustic guitar lessons, singing and composition lessons in Pully or Skype. The vocal technique (mixed voice) that I will teach you, will allow you to interpret your favorite songs that you can hear on the radio with ease and fluency and by accompanying you your guitar will entertain and impress your friends in the evenings! Come and discover your own voice and its possibilities with me. I am a lyric singer (mezzosoprano) and I give lessons for all levels in French, English, German and Dutch. I am a lyrical singer, mezzosoprano, with a classical training. After starting my studies in Brussels, Belgium, I moved to Berlin, to study at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler. This is where I got to take lessons with some of the most important singers and pianists in the business, in such an inspiring city. After living in Berlin for 2 years, I spent 6 months in New York, before coming to Switzerland in September 2019 to finish my master's degree in lyric singing at the Haute École de Musique. Apart from my training, I have already sung recitals and festivals in Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, Brussels and Vienna. I also participated in many international singing competitions; in Europe and the United States. I am especially passionate about classical music, specifically opera, but at the same time I also adore jazz, musical, and all other genres. My goal in giving singing lessons is to help you find and develop your own voice. I want to help you become as free as possible by singing, so that singing becomes even more fun and you feel able to do with your voice what YOU want to do. How to learn to sing? To sing just and well? To answer these complex questions, I was interested in phonatory mechanisms, with speech therapists and phoniatres, I studied singing with a dozen singing teachers, I participated in many Masterclasses and trained myself in different institutions: first at the conservatories of Vaulx-en-Velin and Mâcon, then at the Regional Conservatory of Montpellier, and finally at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Lausanne where I am currently studying with Leontina Vaduva. It is first of all through passion that I want to convey what I have learned. This is felt, according to the words of my students, in my way of teaching which reconciles the rigor of art and the pleasure of singing. In my pedagogical approach, I clearly separate the vocal technique and the art of singing, that is to say the management of an objective mechanism, physical and physiological, of sound production (articulation of the language, management of the pressures subglottic and supra-glottic to achieve a pneumo-phono-resonantial balance), and the shaping of this sound to achieve musical beauty (make a beautiful "legato" line, tempo variations, nuances, etc.). ). When I start with a new student, I first make a diagnosis to determine the range of the voice, the level of resonantial passages, and check the health of the larynx (tonicity, endurance, flexibility). The typical course begins with vocal technique exercises and ends with the work of a musical piece. Singer / songwriter, graduate of a Certificate in Higher Education from the Tech Music School (London), I offer an introductory course to music and the stage through the sung voice, the spoken voice, movement and text. I trained at the University of Aveiro (2010; BMus & MEdu Vocal Performance and Tuition w/ Distinction) and at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (2011; MMus in Performance w/ Merit). From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.

Dear students: My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education. My experience runs mostly in early and classical music with an active performing life, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals. As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborate with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs.
