I am a student of Classical Philology at the University of Valencia, with great teaching skills and ease of explanations. Latin, Ancient Greek, English and Spanish are the foundations of the study of the humanities in Spain. Classical languages are essential to be able to understand our language and a great help in learning other languages. My teaching methodology is to consolidate the foundations of the subject with simple but well-explained examples, with the aim of improving the understanding of languages from their roots.

Latin is a rather subtle language and for some, almost enigmatic, as the style, vocabulary and syntax can be confusing. However, a few tips are enough to find your way through what seems like a labyrinth to the uninitiated. Don't panic! A practical method exists that will put you at ease when faced with any Latin challenge. The delicate syntax of this language will no longer be a torture for you and you might even find it fun to practice reading and understanding texts that previously seemed hermetic to you. Reading, analyzing, understanding and translating a Latin text is possible. And even - why not? - writing in Latin. As an experienced teacher, I offer you supervision (online or at home) taking into account the learner's level and adopting the most appropriate method for adequate monitoring. Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind. I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics. What will not be the subject of the course: learn lists of verbs; learn lists of nouns with their gender; learn words with their translations; memory card game; doing school exercises; follow the program in a notebook; impose French grammar on the Latin language. What matters to me in particular: motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm; encourage creativity; make friends with language; letters and their sounds strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop; teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart; explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible; breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ; place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice. You will learn Latin the way it was meant to be learned - through conversation!
