Graduated from the CNR & CNSMP with Gold Medal, and opera singer, I offer lessons covering the basics of singing. I am excited to offer my new classes I recently developed while teaching in NYC at a children's music school. My initial approach will first be to understand the desires within my student (aka the artist) While I can teach beginner music theory, I do not believe this is necessary for one to write music. However, if the student would like to understand this, I can provide lessons on general theory. My primary intention is to identify the student's core strengths and use them to help them create the music that they wish to create. I have collaborated with artists like Bakithi Kumalo (Paul Simon's bass player) Itaal Shur (Multi-Grammy award winner and Composer of "Smooth" by Santana) and Haydn Bendall (Kate Bush's chief engineer)

I give piano and music theory lessons with my own method. The music theory part is not purely theoretical but always mixed with practice. My method emphasizes the deciphering of scores, given that the objective is to allow the student to be as independent as possible thereafter. It will also have a technical aspect, but I prefer to have her work directly with pieces rather than dry exercises. I also give lessons in harmony, counterpoint and composition for those who would like to go further.

The world of teaching is familiar to me. Indeed, I have been working as a private music teacher in France for 5 years. In addition, in Venezuela, I worked as a music teacher in schools, at university and at the conservatory. Capable of adapting quickly to new professional environments, I have a particular interest in teaching and education, and I attach great importance to pedagogy. Depending on the motivation of the students and their age, I am able to find methods likely to adapt to each experience. I provide my lessons in a fun way to fully understand the musical language through ear training work (or ear training), conferences, the piano as a tool to understand the instrument studied. I also dedicate part of the time to Technical Aspects (very important to avoid undesirable posture effects). Admitted to the entrance examination at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris in 2015 while having started the piano at the age of 12, I gradually developed a unique method to progress effectively and reach a professional level in just a few years of practice. Hello, my name is Ricardo and I'm a Portuguese professional opera singer and singing teacher based in London. I trained at the University of Aveiro (2010; BMus & MEdu Vocal Performance and Tuition w/ Distinction) and at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (2011; MMus in Performance w/ Merit). I'm a certified singing teacher and would love to help you! I teach singing to any age range and in a variety of styles: Classical, Contemporary/Musical Theatre. I teach either at my home in Wimbledon or at the student's home. I'm happy to travel within the London metropolitan area but will adjust the price of the lessons according to the travel costs I incur. My schedule is very flexible and the lessons are to be arranged with the student on a weekly basis. My singing students will be prepared to undertake any endeavour they want to in the music world: I can prepare them to sing for fun for family gatherings, Conservatoire access, ABRSM exams or to sing professionally. I've also had great success with Skype/Facetime singing lessons. These are charged at the same price as live lessons and the date and time are to be arranged between me and the student. Avec 7 ans d’expérience derrière moi et une quarantaine d’élèves ,je pense que meilleure méthode de cours se base sur une approche transversale, liant dès le début l’apprentissage corporel de l’instrument à l'intention musicale de l'élève. Comment exprimer telle ou telle émotion sur le piano avec notre corps ? Que l’on apprenne le piano simplement pour le plaisir ou vers une professionnalisation, cette approche s’adapte au désirs de tous. Adultes et enfants de tout âge sont les bienvenus, le premier cours étant toujours offert, chez moi sur un piano à Queue. En dehors du Piano Classique et du solfège, on peut aussi aborder le Piano Jazz, l’improvisation, la composition et les traditions musicales Indiennes et Indonésiennes. Avec les enfants, cela prend la forme d'une didactique adaptée à l'âge, ludique, avec laquelle je cerne un ou deux objectifs spécifiques à accomplir qui permettent de communiquer des notions complexes d’une manière simple. Apprendre par l’expérience du corps permet d’aborder toutes ces choses d’une manière dirigée et facilement accessible La compréhension du rapport entre son et corps, c’est surtout comprendre que par l’apprentissage on unifie des éléments séparés. Les signes et les idées musicales qui se trouvent sur la partition, les mouvements respectifs de nos mains, les sons produits ensuite et entendus par nos oreilles forment un tout. C’est ce tout qui s’exprime comme musique, c'est-à-dire quelque chose de plus que ces éléments pris séparément. Comprendre ce rapport, c’est sentir plus nettement comment la musique nous touche et comment l’on peut toucher les autres avec la musique.
