Classical guitar, nylon acoustic, improvised music
Translated by Google. Click to view original.
I am a professional nylon string guitarist, classical, jazz, fusion, performer, composer and improviser.I was trained at the CNR in Nice in classical guitar (by the duo Ako Ito and Henry Dorigny, for those who know), and in composition, harmony and instrumentation. I have a solid experience of teaching in institutions and independently, as well as studio and acoustic and electroacoustic recording techniques.
Children or adults, beginners or confirmed, my lessons adapt to the objectives of the student, for instrumental practice such as training and musical culture. We will define them together. I guarantee you rapid progress and a truly rewarding experience whatever your level. Classes take place in an artistically and intellectually stimulating atmosphere!
If you are a beginner, you will build on solid foundations and will not be limited in your future progress. For beginner children who wish to join a conservatory in classical guitar in the coming year or the following years, they will have the technical and musical level required.
If you are an already advanced guitarist, I can greatly help you to liberate your playing, to overcome any technical limitations that still hold you back. Many good guitarists are particularly limited by their right hand. Si-Si!... We will solve these problems in a few sessions. You will quickly gain in velocity, nuances, expressiveness. By the way, you will stop hurting yourself!
The goal is to make music! Together we will reveal your potential as a guitarist and musician, interpreter as an improviser. Because if you are passionate about improvised music as I am, your possibilities will quickly expand by exploring playing modes, special tunings, the fusion between contemporary, classical and jazz music.

About Me
David

Conservatory student gives lessons in guitar, music theory and musical composition (all styles)Graduated from a license in musicology, I am currently pursuing my graduate studies at the conservatory in the scholarly disciplines of composition, analysis, writing, musical arrangement as well as Jazz.
I have been playing guitar for many, many years now, as well as piano and flute.
I have been teaching guitar, piano, flute and musical education for several years now to children, teenagers and adults.
I also have a very good level in music theory, writing (jazz and classical), harmony as well as musical composition.
My classes are based on listening as well as the development of the musical ear and musical creativity. I try to transmit my passion for music by making my students discover very varied horizons, from jazz to classical music, including current music and so-called traditional music.
I also seek to develop autonomy in my students, an essential quality in order to flourish both musically and in everyday life. This is why I insist on the knowledge of the instrument and the development of creativity through the teaching of applied music theory and the development of the ear.
My course is aimed at both beginners and people of an intermediate or advanced level who would like to improve their skills.
If you are looking for a teacher who is both an educator and attentive to your personal musicality, do not hesitate to contact me.

Beginner to Advanced Lessons for Guitar Players for all agesAfter dedicating 14 years to mastering the guitar, I've developed a comprehensive understanding of guitar playing, encompassing both foundational techniques and advanced music theory. In these lessons, I'll be sharing the wealth of knowledge I've accumulated over this extensive period of learning.
I will be covering a broad range of guitar techniques, including fingerpicking, strumming techniques, major and minor chords, power chords, barre chords, riffs, scales, finger warm-ups, practising any song of your choice, string bending, pull-offs, hammer-ons, harmonics, strumming patterns, and slides. All are provided with diagrams etc.
For music theory, I will begin by covering the fundamentals, including notes, strings, and the musical 12-note chromatic scale alphabet on the guitar. As students progress, we will delve into more advanced topics such as tones, semitones, chord progressions, circle of fifths, scale formulas and chord terminology. Additionally, we will explore concepts like consonance and dissonance and pitch practice to develop relative pitch. (You have to be born with perfect pitch but you can learn relative pitch with practise!)
Then advancing to jazz theory, we'll explore; jazz scale formulas, jazz chord progressions, swing techniques, major and minor 7th chords, major and minor 9th chords, dominant, augmented, half-diminished, diminished, sus2 and sus4 chords. And then jazz scales and the art of re-harmonising a song (changing the chords to jazz chords). All music theory will be intertwined with guitar practice as both can't be done without the other!
One observation I've made while learning guitar through lessons is that information is often doled out incrementally, making it feel like a breadcrumb trail. Guitar knowledge and skills seem to be closely guarded and usually gatekept unless actively sought out. I strongly believe that the extensive knowledge I've acquired over 14 years of playing should be fruitfully shared in a more comprehensive and accessible manner, of course while being tailored to the pace of the students. In essence, I'm convinced that the depth of my understanding I've gained could be effectively conveyed and learnt within a two-year timeframe without including the time it takes to master the skill with practice, of course, I'd like to make it easier for people to learn the guitar and the theory behind it.
I have also graduated with a distinction for my Music Performance and Production UAL Level 3 Course and a distinction in Fashion Communication which included my music playing at Central Saint Martins. I also have experience teaching guitar in London and Bristol before.
The lessons will be taught in English so practising your English with me is also a plus, a foundational knowledge of English is required to take the lessons.

Electric/classical/pop/blues/jazz/other guitar lessonsThe guitar is a very versatile instrument that allows you to learn many songs to play by the fire as well as more complex pieces in order to improve your technique to be able to play in concert for example. The goal of my course is to provide a first approach to this instrument or to deepen certain basics by following the personal objectives of the musician. Music must remain a leisure activity so the lessons must be interesting and take place in a good mood. We could learn improvisation as well as the execution of existing pieces or even composition.

Instrumental practice course for piano, guitar and bassMusic is a wonderful discipline, but it takes investment and willpower. And to stir up the students' will, I myself learned from them that support is very important.
However, it is also a vector of expression and relaxation and we often integrate it better in a fun way than under duress.
So I designed my courses in two parts: a first part theory and learning new bases followed by a second where the student lets his creativity speak by putting into practice what he learned in the previous course in order to improve it.
