Basic sciences tutoring for Medical students (pathology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology)

My aim is to tailor classes to my students' goals/ targets/curriculum/ plans to take the USMLE exam. There is a lot of 'self-study' in medicine and it's not always easy to tackle heavy subjects alone. We can go through your coursework, start from scratch, or go through topics in review type sessions and tackle the topics head-on!

    About Me

Currently in my final year (internship) of medical school. Having recently experienced medical school myself I understand how much self-study medicine requires and that it's not always easy to keep up or comprehend lecture material. I have a fresh memory of how to best prepare for and approach exams and what focus points to keep in mind for different topics, it's not always possible to remember every detail. I have often led group study sessions and have mastered pre-exam rapid review techniques.

While in medical school I dedicated my weekends to tutor English. It often required a lot of preparation as my students were of different ages and at different levels of English proficiency.

    Education

Final year (Internship) at Bahcesehir University, School of Medicine (Istanbul)
On the Dean's high honor roll
    A-levels: biology, chemistry, mathematics (Qatar)

    Experience / Qualifications

English tutor in Istanbul and Qatar for students of different ages and levels of English proficiency. My students ranged from kindergarteners to high school students.
Although English is taught in most schools it is not always easy mastering a language without practice, be that speaking, reading, or writing. My aim is to boost my students' confidence in their English skills and allow them to express themselves confidently and fluently. Having previously tutored children with no background in the English language I am very aware of how important it is to gain the confidence in experimenting with a new language and practicing it with a native speaker. Depending on your goals be it conversational English, exam preparation, or writing, I can tailor my classes to best suit you.
I tutor Anatomy and Physiology for 1st and 2nd year medical school students. My aim is to tailor classes to your requests/ focus points/ curriculum to better furnish you with a strong core understanding in the basic sciences. If you're finding it hard to keep up, don't worry, let's tackle this head on from detailed study to rapid review sessions.

Entrance exam doctor-dentist, vocational guidance and preparation
I prepare the student for the entrance exam for medicine and/or dentistry. Because a lot of work goes into this, I recommend enjoying both early and well-planned preparation so that the chances of passing this exam are optimal. The subjects covered are mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics. The silent reading text of the afternoon part is also drilled. Tips are also given regarding taking the exam itself, the structure of the questions and how best to start.

As most subjects flow into each other, I focus on clinical diseases or blocks of systems I.e cardiology would be focusing on development, physiology, anatomy, clinical pictures with cases etc. It’s all intertwined and hence truly fun to teach. I can adapt my courses to individuals with very specific questions and offer long term support.

Medical School Admissions Tutoring (personal statement, UCAT, interview coaching)
Admission to medical school in the UK can be a daunting prospect for many students, with the looming personal statement, UCAT admissions test and interview preparation. I hope to relieve some of this pressure from prospective students with my tuition. As a 4th year medical student at University College London (UCL), I have a lot of experience in the UK medical school admissions process. I achieved A*A*A at A Level, a 92nd percentile score in my UCAT, and received offers from all 4 medical schools that I applied for (UCL, Imperial, King's, Kent and Medway). Ideally, I would work with a student throughout the entire process, beginning in Year 12 when they are writing their personal statement, throughout the UCAT revision stage and finally in the interview coaching stage.
