I am a former University Senior Lecturer with over 20 years experience in teaching and research. I am passionate about inspiring individuals to aim high. I have assisted multiple students and early career academics to achieve their goals. I worked in research and teaching roles within UK universities between 2004 and 2024 and am an Advance HE Fellow. I am the author of four books, have published in a range of international peer reviewed journals and have chapters in various other books. I also have significant experience in peer-reviewing for academic journals. After a twenty-year career in UK higher education I decided to embark on my own freelance private tutoring and academic consultancy business. I have delivered bespoke 1:1 tutorials to university students since April 2023. I was a part-time private tutor from April 2023 to June 2024 and have been full-time since then working with various tutoring agencies. I teach social sciences, qualitative research methods, study skills and academic writing and I have assisted students from undergraduate to PhD level. I have also assisted early career researchers or those new to teaching at the higher education level. I believe that students learn best when they construct knowledge for themselves rather than passively take it in, so all my classes are student-centred and aim to help you become an independent learner by improving your skills so that you can perform better in your assessments. Welcome to my lessons for tutoring! In my classes, I emphasise knowledge analysis and improvement across English Literature / Sociology / Psychology. My method emphasises personalised guidance that is tailored to the needs of each student. I assist with teaching the appropriate content and exam strategies that students need to get the best grades possible. In Sociology, I do exam practice and go over topics. Sociology is the study of human social life and you can expect to cover topics such as work, families, gender roles, multiculturalism, media and culture and globalisation. During my lessons, I will elaborate on these topics and allow you to understand and feel confident within this subject. In Psychology, I will teach students key theories and behaviours of humans. During my lessons I will compare psychological theories to real life durations and I will explain this in a deeper level to help students. In English literature, through a more in-depth analysis of context, I help students become more proficient writers, which helps them feel more comfortable with the topic. I like to give tasks to my students after class to make sure they feel secure and fully comprehend what they are learning. My intention is for my pupils to feel enthusiastic and confident about studying these subjects both during and after my classes, since this will benefit them both academically and in real-world scenarios. I specialise in teaching GCSE and A level sociology and psychology and also I am able to teach GCSE religious studies. As I am a newly graduated student hence I am up to date with today’s curriculum and what to teach students. This class aims to teach you the basics on Health and Social Care in detail and how to use those basics to apply to specific and more complex topics in the field. You'll learn the fundamentals in detail and how to apply them to simple and unorthodox case studies and research papers. You will learn how to write essays while also knowing how to apply them in both your professional and everyday life. You will learn the fundamental skill of analysing how effectively Health and Social Care Government Interventions work in different scenarios, alongside the different types of Government Interventions.
