Friends and family call me Debbie, so that’s how you’re going to call me too! 😊 I hold a degree in psychology and am a licensed professional in Greece, currently pursuing my MSc in Health Psychology! I love learning new languages and exploring different cultures and perspectives. I have a B2 certificate in Spanish, and I’m currently learning Korean. The focus will be on speaking practice (writing can also be taught), and building vocabulary to help you understand everyday conversations and express yourself with ease. If you aim for casual learning of the language I can also assist you. If you already have a good knowledge of Modern Greek and just want to sharpen your skills, I can help you with extra speaking practice and answer any grammar questions to improve the flow of your speech and deepen your understanding.

Master's student in physics at EPFL and literary at heart, I obtained the baccalaureate with honors (19.8/20 general average) and willingly help in learning the French language, its literature, its philosophy and its culture if interested. I propose to give French support courses for all levels, occasionally or regularly :) I have previously given lessons to children. Having several young nephews and nieces and having regularly carried out baby sittings, I am used to supervising children. I can also help with English classes (after having lived for several months in Cambridge, England), mathematics, science or provide general academic support for homework help for children. Philosophy is much more than a simple method; it's a more general way of positioning ourselves, even a way of life. At its core, it's critical thinking and the ability to see beyond what's left unsaid and unclear, and to find information, question, and arrive at a more nuanced vision of the world. Together we will begin with everyday facts to explore the foundations of philosophy, look for clues in the history of thought and learn to be independent in our critical thinking. I also support the questioning of major texts and problems posed in literature courses, philosophy courses in middle school, and preparation for the Swiss maturity, see prep for university studies. You don't need to have any knowledge of the Greek Language. You need only a PC and good internet connection. You don't have to buy any books or materials. You need only appetite to learn and to be present at the lessons. I will send everything you need about the lessons. My lessons are adjustable to your time to study. If you don't have time to study at home, don't worry. A lot of adults work or have children and is difficult for them to spend time at home studying. I will explain grammar, we will do together exercises, speaking, listening, vocabulary exercises and we will read texts. Also, videos and on line games will be provided to you. I am not strict as a teacher and I am very flexible about the schedule.

Teaching interactively and combining fun and knowledge is my style I have already had 3 years of teaching experience with various ages: from teenagers to adults, so you don't need to think that age is an obstacle for you. I have also completed a seminar and a university course on teaching Greek as a Second/Foreign language. The lessons are structured, and we will practice all the language skills during the lessons. I would not like my students to be just listeners but to participate actively and always discover new things, giving us the desired result. Working with various materials in Greek, we will focus on the difficulties and weaknesses.
