I am a former University Senior Lecturer with over 20 years experience in teaching and research. I am passionate about inspiring individuals to aim high. I have assisted multiple students and early career academics to achieve their goals. I worked in research and teaching roles within UK universities between 2004 and 2024 and am an Advance HE Fellow. I am the author of four books, have published in a range of international peer reviewed journals and have chapters in various other books. I also have significant experience in peer-reviewing for academic journals. After a twenty-year career in UK higher education I decided to embark on my own freelance private tutoring and academic consultancy business. I have delivered bespoke 1:1 tutorials to university students since April 2023. I was a part-time private tutor from April 2023 to June 2024 and have been full-time since then working with various tutoring agencies. I teach social sciences, qualitative research methods, study skills and academic writing and I have assisted students from undergraduate to PhD level. I have also assisted early career researchers or those new to teaching at the higher education level. I believe that students learn best when they construct knowledge for themselves rather than passively take it in, so all my classes are student-centred and aim to help you become an independent learner by improving your skills so that you can perform better in your assessments. Through History and Philosophy classes you will be able to explore the development of human thoughts and how these thoughts have caused historical events, which have shaped our society over time and continue to do so. In History class you will study events, moments and figures from different time periods and will player the impact they have on today. In Philosophy class you will delve into fundamental questions about existence, knowledge, ethics and the nature of reality. These classes will help you become more advanced in these subjects and will provide you with with the tools you will need to pass your exams.

A-Level Psychology, Sociology and English Language along with GCSE essay subjects can be very daunting at first, however, with my structures and tailored lessons in light of the elements and topics you are experiencing difficulty with, I am confident that I will be able to support you in achieving the top grade band (A*-B). Whether it is memorisation of content at A-Level, exam technique or application, as an individual who achieved A*'s and A's throughout GCSE and A Level, I know exactly what it feels like to have to memorise and give an exam for a difficult subject and can thus work closely with you to support, aid and direct you to unlocking your full potential.

I have taken a few years off to complete my PhD in History and I would not like to stop teaching and learning in the meantime. I guess it is a cliché, but it is amazing what I have learned by teaching. If anything can distinguish me, it is that my personal experience has shown me that, when it comes to learning, complexities such as age are simply that. With this course you will learn study techniques to apply to any subject. How to organize your work, tools for outlining and much more. Studying is not just about sitting at your desk and starting to memorize; there are some previous steps to take.

I mainly teach math lessons from middle school to high school. Before starting the lessons, I need to get in touch with the student to know their level, the areas where they want to improve and their objectives. Depending on the level, I adapt the work seen in class to the different points of improvement and suggest exercises consistent with what the student is stuck on. At the same time, I go over point by point the elements that were not for the student (in the Ds and the questions) I rework the exercises seen in class. Finally, and this is the most important, I advise the student on his working methods, with what state of mind to approach the exercises. I can also provide homework help in subjects other than mathematics: I got 17 in the HEC philosophy exams and I didn't get below 18 in subjects such as SES, Philosophy and history in the BAC. I recommend at least one math lesson per week in order to take stock of the week; it is regularity that allows progress. As a Tutor at EDHEC I already have experience of courses with high schools. I am a calm, composed and educational person. In terms of math, I got 18 in my math baccalaureate and then I went to a HEC preparatory class at Louis-Le-Grand in advanced math where I had more than 12 hours of math per week.

Theoretical subjects and languages often seem complicated to grasp. The concepts and terminology the former contains sometimes make it difficult for students to get a proper hold on a basic part of the subjects. However, I will introduce all these theoretical concepts to you uniquely and in a storytelling mode. These subjects will not haunt you anymore, as your tutor is here to guide you throughout your journey with a proper study plan and fun learning.

Recent graduate of Oxford University, theology and religion. A*s in A levels and 9s at gcses. Will provide high level tutoring in any subject (ks2-4, gcse, a level etc) related to my degree subject. These include Religious studies, ethics, philosophy, politics, english (literature at a-level, lit and lang gcse). Can offer subject specific teaching, but also more generally essay writing practice, as well as oxbridge interview, personal statement, and entrance exam help, particularly for students in the state sector. While I cannot guarantee success, I will do my best to relay my experiences and hopefully provide students with helpful guidance. Classes will be catered specifically according to each student, however I will often ask for them to come along with recent examples of written work, or practice papers/questions.
