UCAT and BMAT sessions for those getting in to medical school

I am a medical student at the university of Birmingham. Having gone through the process of applying to medical school and achieving all a*s and a's at GCSE, As and A-level and also receiving all 4 of my medical school interviews, I am well aware of how the applications process and exams work and how the volume of content can be overwhelming at times. I am able to give tips and advice on how to cope with exams and university applications along with ways to keep on top of everything. I have also tutored at children from primary school age (including 11+) through to a levels and volunteered at the children's ward at royal free hospital and so am well aware of how every child is different and how to communicate effectively with them all.
Having worked at a tuition centre tutoring children from as young as primary age all the way through to a-level, I understand that everyone is different and learn at different paces and in different ways. I am an innovative thinker and so like to come up with new ways to explain content which will keep my students engaged and enjoying the topics whilst fully understanding them. I understand that quantity and quality are both important during exams and so aim to cover a few topics in detail in each session. I also like to consolidate these topics with a few exam questions at the end of each session to ensure that my students are able to apply their knowledge as application has become a focus point in many of the new syllabuses. I also try to add in an exam question at the start of the next session to ensure that information has properly been understood and retained. I am flexible in teaching style and pace as I understand that not everyone learns in the same way.
I will help you prepare for your UCAT and BMAT exams whilst counselling you through the applications process.

I offer tutoring for GCSE/A-level Biology as well as support for all aspects of medical school application including: UCAT, personal statement and interviews. I achieved 2970 SJT Band 1 in UCAT (Top 6%), A*A*A* at A-level (Biology, Chemistry and Maths) and 9999999888A*A at GCSE. I received interviews for medicine at Bristol and KCL and obtained unconditional offers from both. Applying to medical school is an intimidating challenge, and one that is much easier with external support. Together, we can navigate the journey to help you reach your potential! If you are not a prospective medical student, but seek tutoring for GCSE/A-level Biology, please do reach out! I believe the most effective way to prepare for any assessment is to emulate it. Therefore, my teaching style is centred around approaching practice questions and mock exams. By working through these, I help students become familiar with the format and type of questions they will encounter. This method not only builds confidence but also identifies areas that need improvement. Additionally, I tailor my sessions to address individual student needs, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and developing effective test-taking strategies. There are no silly questions! Note: All sessions will be done online via video call

Medical School Admissions Tutoring (personal statement, UCAT, interview coaching)
Admission to medical school in the UK can be a daunting prospect for many students, with the looming personal statement, UCAT admissions test and interview preparation. I hope to relieve some of this pressure from prospective students with my tuition. As a 4th year medical student at University College London (UCL), I have a lot of experience in the UK medical school admissions process. I achieved A*A*A at A Level, a 92nd percentile score in my UCAT, and received offers from all 4 medical schools that I applied for (UCL, Imperial, King's, Kent and Medway). Ideally, I would work with a student throughout the entire process, beginning in Year 12 when they are writing their personal statement, throughout the UCAT revision stage and finally in the interview coaching stage.
