Online Zoom Lessons for Medicine Interview practice or UCAT/BMAT prep

I’m Rukshaan and I plan to study medicine at UCL from September. If anyone wants any sort of help (online 1 hour lessons through zoom) with Biology, Chemistry and Maths for KS3, GCSE or A level, feel free to contact me. I’m happy to have a talk to get to know me, formalities and to know what to have ready for our first lesson, but only if the first proper lesson is agreed and prepared for!

I will go through content or topics in a manner which suits the child's learning ability and engagement, since it is a one-to-one lesson, and then build upon that with questions.

I learnt to cater the lessons to engage with a more visual approach and taking small steps to encourage pupils to come out of their shell, and be more excited when they make progress. I teach using my iPad, going through notes, handwriting points and sharing my screen so the online lesson is much more interactive and more constructive.

    About Me

I’m Rukshaan and am a first year UCL medic so I also have a great scientific interest. This is mainly balanced out with my hobby in music.

I love teaching and have so far taught at Whitefriars School in Harrow and had experience with one on one or small group sessions with children struggling with maths. On the other end of the spectrum, I’ve taught 11 plus children with 11plusexams situated in Harrow. I really do enjoy making my students as comfortable as possible so the lessons are usually quite relaxed and I try to adapt my lessons around their interests and points of focus. If they are struggling particularly and falling behind, I can help them set small goals to bring them back up to speed. If on the other hand, they are very adept and just require a little fine-tuning, I am also able to set goals to push them above and beyond. All-in-all, having had experience with both groups of students, I am more than capable of catering to their needs.

I attained 14 A*s at GCSE, with 9’s for the relevant subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths), 4 A’s at AS level (which includes Biology, Chemistry and Maths), and am predicted 3 A*s in those three subjects.

Having done 4 medical interviews successfully, I am also offering medical interview practice hour-long lessons via zoom also for 20 pounds.

I learnt to cater the lessons to engage with a more visual approach and taking small steps to encourage pupils to come out of their shell, and be more excited when they make progress. I teach using my iPad, going through notes, handwriting points and sharing my screen so the online lesson is much more interactive and more constructive. Feel free to reach out :) If you have any questions or queries, I’m happy to clear things up.

    Thanks!

Hello! My name is Joe and I am a BSc Biochemistry graduate from Imperial College London and a 1st year medical student at King’s College London. I offer tutoring for GCSE/A-level Biology as well as support for all aspects of medical school application including: UCAT, personal statement and interviews. I achieved 2970 SJT Band 1 in UCAT (Top 6%), A*A*A* at A-level (Biology, Chemistry and Maths) and 9999999888A*A at GCSE. I received interviews for medicine at Bristol and KCL and obtained unconditional offers from both. I hold an Enhanced DBS Check (for both adults and children) I am enthusiastic to share my expertise developed from my recent first-hand experience with the medical application process. Applying to medical school is an intimidating challenge, and one that is much easier with external support. Together, we can navigate the journey to help you reach your potential! If you are not a prospective medical student, but seek tutoring for GCSE/A-level Biology, please do reach out! I believe the most effective way to prepare for any assessment is to emulate it. Therefore, my teaching style is centred around approaching practice questions and mock exams. By working through these, I help students become familiar with the format and type of questions they will encounter. This method not only builds confidence but also identifies areas that need improvement. Additionally, I tailor my sessions to address individual student needs, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and developing effective test-taking strategies. There are no silly questions! Note: All sessions will be done online via video call

Medical School Admissions Tutoring (personal statement, UCAT, interview coaching)
Admission to medical school in the UK can be a daunting prospect for many students, with the looming personal statement, UCAT admissions test and interview preparation. I hope to relieve some of this pressure from prospective students with my tuition. As a 4th year medical student at University College London (UCL), I have a lot of experience in the UK medical school admissions process. I achieved A*A*A at A Level, a 92nd percentile score in my UCAT, and received offers from all 4 medical schools that I applied for (UCL, Imperial, King's, Kent and Medway). Ideally, I would work with a student throughout the entire process, beginning in Year 12 when they are writing their personal statement, throughout the UCAT revision stage and finally in the interview coaching stage.
