Mathematics and Physics, understanding beats learning !

As a student at Oxford University in Energy, with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, I can give tutoring at all levels (high school - university) in most scientific subjects.

In my teaching, I aim to make people understand rather than learn. This is a method that has followed me throughout my studies and has greatly facilitated my own learning. I receive very good reviews of this approach and am well motivated to share it with you!

George
Tutoring for Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Geography, RS, Physics, and English
I am a UCL Biological Sciences student seeking to offer a highly personalised tutoring experience that caters to my students' needs. I currently teach from Year 7 upwards with a speciality in exam preparation. I teach Geography, RS, Physics, and English from Years 7-11, and Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry from Years 7-13. I aim to understand my tutees' unique concerns and explain concepts simply with many alternative approaches. As someone who has experienced obstacles to my own learning, I have a lot of empathy for students struggling with their learning, particularly those with learning differences and endeavour to develop an approach that works for them. I was a strong student in secondary school (Queen’s College, London) achieving A*s and As (and equivalents) at GCSE and three As at A-Level in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Particularly of note, I received a 9 in GCSE Mathematics, 98% in GCSE Religious Studies, and was awarded a sixth-form academic scholarship. I am an experienced tutor - I participated in a tutoring scheme in secondary school which allowed students from Year 7 to Year 12 to ask any questions they might be struggling with in any subject they wished. This allowed me to continue to engage with my GCSE content during my A-Level years and taught me how to listen to and understand the particular needs of each student at a given moment. I also tutored family and friends of family, allowing me to engage personally with my students and develop a specialised teaching approach. I offer one hour and two hour sessions and am free on weekends, after 5pm, and whenever my university timetable permits. I am generally free at all times outside of university term time.

London School of Economics Master's student in Mathematics with one year experience in preparing students for IB. Currently tutoring student
We will work on your understanding of the most important concepts by doing practice exercises. We will start with the easiest ones and we will gradually increase the difficulty as you progress. Additionally, we will do lots of past papers, especially if you want to prepare for a specific examination. We are going to keep track of your level and mark your improvements session by session. During our sessions, we can focus on different areas of Maths according to your needs, from Algebra and Calculus to Statistics and Probability. Additionally, we can work on exam taking techniques such as Time Management and how to practice effectively for an exam. I am excited to tutor other people that want to learn Maths, because I get to share my passion for the subject while making a positive impact. To me, it is a very rewarding experience, because of the feeling of accomplishment to help others succeed.

GCSE maths/science tuition and exam mentorship to guarantee A* (8-9 score) across the board
Hello. I am a University of Oxford medicine graduate. I will mentor you to perform as well as possible across the board, with a focus on maths and science. Exam results are more important than ever. The truth is that most teachers will teach in a typical way which is not conducive to actually performing as well as possible in exams across the board. The methods are too time consuming, boring and inefficient. I will teach students to perform as well as possible in GCSE exams as quickly and efficiently as possible, regardless of your ability. I will distil the content down into the most concise, simple format and combine this with exam techniques and revision strategies which ACTUALLY WORK to help you achieve similar results in any subject. The skills I will teach come from my own experience of achieving 14A*s at GCSE and 5A*s at A-level, even in subjects I was not good at. The skills I teach can be applied to any subject and will help you to learn faster and more efficiently. Anyone can achieve this regardless of current academic performance. I will mentor you continuously and meet once weekly to discuss new strategies, address concerns and ensure you perform as well as possible with minimum stress.

Andrew
Mathematics lessons for primary and secondary school students
Hello, my name is Andrew. I am originally from Australia but have lived in London for over 10 years. I am a qualified mathematics teacher with over 15 years of tutoring experience. I have a Diploma in Education majoring in Mathematics and I am also currently studying for a degree in Mathematics. I have received 100% in the three exams undertaken in the course so far, including receiving the Leslie Walshaw award for the highest assessment mark in Greater London. Mathematics is a subject I genuinely enjoy teaching. It is a subject many students find challenging but I have found that when it is taught in a manner catered to the student then the student's understanding of the subject can be achieved much more effectively. This is why I like providing tuition.
