About Me

I recently graduated with a Journalism degree, from the Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas (Central University “Marta Abreu” of Las Villas), Cuba, with excellent results and with honors, as I obtained a 4.90 GPA (from a 5.0 scale) that qualified me to hold the Título de Oro (Golden Title). Furthermore, I was recognized by the academic institution with the Premio al Mérito Científico-Técnico (Scientific-Technical Merit Award).
During the course of my higher education, I received awards and recognitions in scientific forums, colloquiums, symposia and competitions. I published as a co-author a scientific article in Estudios sobre el mensaje periodístico, of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Complutense University of Madrid), Spain [indexed in Scopus: 23 (2), 2017, pages 709-726]. I also participated as a Peer Evaluator for the publication of an article at Revista de Estudios Sociales Contemporáneos, of the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (National University of Cuyo), Argentina (No. 20, June 2019).
Since September 2019, I work as a journalist at an importante Cuban radio station. I not only master my native language, Spanish, but I fluently speak English and French. I also have experience with various audiovisual and text editing programs, and especially with the Sony Vegas and Adobe packages, as well as the usual office supports.
Currently, I am studying a master’s degree in Political Science, at the Central University “Marta Abreu” of Las Villas. In fact, I am one of the authors of the book Enfoques críticos sobre la teoría y la práctica políticas en América Latina del siglo XXI (Critical Approaches to Political Theory and Practice in Latin America in the XXI Century), the second collective book of the master’s degree in Political Science at the Central University “Marta Abreu” of Las Villas, prepared primarily with the contributions of students and professors belonging to its third edition.
I am interested in scientific publications in the areas of Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as historical, philosophical, linguistic and communication research on the media. In fact, my degree thesis dealt with the discursive construction of Westernity in the news agencies Reuters, Sputnik and Notimex, and I aim to continue studying this and other gnoseological phenomena in several postgraduate courses.
I recently accomplished an online postgraduate course, entitled “Violencias contra las mujeres y radios por la no violencia” (“Violence against women and radio stations for non-violence”), sponsored by the association Radialistas Apasionadas y Apasionados (based in Quito, Ecuador), which allowed me to associate my knowledge about the feminist struggle with my work in the media. In April 2021 I will begin to study the online specialization on Epistemologías del Sur (Epistemologies of the South), in conjunction with the Consejo Latinoamericano de Ciencias Sociales (Latin American Council of Social Sciences, CLACSO), the Centro de Estudios Sociales (Centre for Social Studies, CES) and the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences, FLACSO Brazil).
It should be noted that I am a pre-admitted student in the Máster Universitario en Estudios Humanísticos y Sociales (Master’s Degree in Humanistic and Social Studies), at the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU (Abat Oliba CEU University), in Barcelona, and I am in the process of formalizing my enrollment to begin my studies around September of this year.

Journalism has been, is, and will be an ever-evolving activity, in a world that we know as changing. History records that the fundamental form of communication at the dawn of humanity was oral-written, but in the recent past, journalistic activity found an expansion in film, television, and radio. However, Teletext and the digital press open up a formidable field of possibilities for communications in the 21st century. So the historical panorama of journalism is broad enough to write much more than just a chronicle. Do you want to be a journalist? Do you want to learn the ins and outs of this activity as old as it is necessary? In the Introduction to Journalism class, you will have the basic tools to train yourself as an excellent communicator. As a journalist and graduate student, I am interested in academic research in the areas of Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as historical, philosophical, linguistic and communicative research on the media, and my main goal now is to continue studying this and other gnoseological phenomena in various postgraduate lines. Join my class! In the end, life is a beautiful chronicle, and you will have the tools to describe it. Bilingualism and Code-Switching: by popular demand
In these neuro-divergent times, the binary division of "one language or two" in bilinguals is perhaps due some contestation, which students are capable of providing. I have always found bilingual production models (and the ubiquitous Powerpoint slide) that university teachers provide a hindrance because of their lack of explicitness and discussion - they are just not relatable as presented nor do they provide much information or examples for monolingual students. Code-switching, a by-product of bilingualism, is now a term that is even found in minority-ethnic neighbourhood grafitti ("can white people code-switch" a found example). Please note that this is a linguistic term, used for switching between two languages, and not between local or social varieties of English. My personal position is that there is no such thing as bilingualism: there is always a language that suffers attrition, and one language that prevails, mostly because of its prestigious standing over the other language. On the other hand, a child exposed to more than one language cannot be truly monolingual. For this course (very popular at universities around Europe both at undergraduate and postgraduate level) we shall go through the terms used to discuss bilingualism, in detail, and then discuss, with the help of published books and articles, who can be considered bilingual (or are we all, one other language lying dormant?). Can bilingualism be defined by the speaker, instead of the "community"? Can it be imposed by the State? Does a bilingual brain function in the same manner as a monolingual brain? These are research questions that emerge as dissertation or thesis topics both at undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

It explores various aspects of sociology and provides a rich understanding of social structures and institutions and their impact on human behavior and the organization of society. The course follows the same lines as my textbook (which can be found on Amazon in French and English). The course is organized into 14 modules as follows: 1. Introduction to Sociology 2 . The Origins and Development of Sociology 3 . The History of Sociology 4 . Theoretical Perspectives in Sociology 5. Research Methods in Sociology 6 . Socialization and Identity 7. Social Structures and Institutions 8 . Social Stratification and Inequality 9 . Culture and Society 10 . Sociology of Religion 11 . Deviance and Crime 12 . Social Change and Social Movements 13 . The Future of Sociology 14 . Conclusion: A Reflective Journey Through Sociology Every time, the teacher starts by presenting the topic. The students are required to take notes. Then, we start the questions and answers to ensure the students understand what was said. Then, we summarize, and that ends the session. NB: There will also be a distribution of references for further reading on the subject. Overall, the course provides a theoretical foundation for understanding key sociological concepts and their application to analyze and resolve societal complexities. It will be supplemented by practical exercises in content analysis, text intelligence, etc.

A level Economics: Content, Structure and Perfection
A-level Economics is a significant step up from IGCSE and AS-level Economics. It can often seem daunting, leading some students to struggle with the basics and ultimately underperform. In the worst-case scenario, this can even extinguish their interest in a potentially rewarding career path. This course takes an innovative approach to breaking down the fundamentals of economics using real-world examples to foster a deeper understanding of the subject matter. Additionally, students will gain valuable A-level tips and tricks to significantly boost their grades and aim for A* or A. The course is led by Ameer Sarfarazhusain, a first-year student at the University of Warwick. The University is ranked among the top 5 universities in the UK for its Economics course and top 3 for employability in top investment banks. Ameer has over 5 years of experience in student leadership roles and has taught various subjects to high school students. As the founder of the AYEP, he also delivers environmental economics classes to young people across the MENA region. AYEP has even partnered with the United Nations to contribute youth policy inputs to COP28 in Dubai. In conclusion, this course will expertly unravel the complexities of A-level Economics, setting students up for success and potentially opening doors to a fulfilling career.

Graduate in Advertising and Marketing, I offer to give review classes for ESO and high school subjects
My teaching method goes beyond memorization, because I believe that it is necessary to learn any subject from understanding and thus develop learning, to apply it in an exam or work done during the course. My goal is to get students to have an active attitude both in class and when preparing for a test. I am a person who is passionate about learning and sharing my knowledge, not just for an exam. I also believe that if you are able to foster interest in any subject, the results are achieved organically. My system is to make the content understood in a didactic way and to awaken interest in said content.
