I am Natalia, a piano musician and music writer. I compose my own music pieces on the piano, music tracks in different genres including, for example, film scores, pop songs and classical music. I make and play music for anything that requires music. Movies, TV shows, plays, commercials, songs. This class will introduce you to some building blocks for writing effective poetry. This will focus on imaginative and descriptive aspects of poetry, as opposed to technical and academic aspects. It also works for creative writing in general. However, it will specifically focus on some of the more playful and concise elements of poetry, as opposed to the structure and narrative of prose, for example. There are a lot of barriers and negative preconceptions around poetry which I am to dismantle - building confidence and making poetry feel fun, as opposed to fearful! Enthusiasm is more important to me than academic ability. I also welcome pupils who speak English as an additional language and will try my best to accommodate as many access needs as possible. Hello, I’m Liam, and I’m excited to be your guide in this songwriting class! With over 10 years of experience as a songwriter, performer, and producer, I’ve had the privilege of writing in a wide variety of genres, pop, rock, folk. My songs have been featured on radio, and my approach to songwriting focuses on the intersection of creativity, emotion, and craft. I love helping aspiring songwriters find their unique voice, overcome creative challenges, and develop their skills. Whether you're new to songwriting or looking to take your craft to the next level, I aim to provide a supportive and collaborative environment where you can grow and experiment with new ideas. My teaching style emphasizes both the technical aspects of songwriting (like melody, structure, and lyrics) and the more intuitive, emotional side of creating music. I believe that every songwriter has something unique to say, and my goal is to help you express that voice in the most authentic way possible. Outside of teaching, I continue to write, perform, and record music, and I’m passionate about staying engaged with the ever-evolving world of songwriting. I look forward to working with you, sharing tools and techniques, and creating a space for everyone to develop their craft.

With thirteen years' teaching experience, in universities, private institutes, secondary schools and as a private tutor, I have a PhD in Comparative Literature and a broad understanding of learning techniques and approaches. I am friendly, approachable, and will tailor my teaching to your needs, objectives, likes and dislikes. With expertise across English and Anglophone Literature, theory and criticism, Comparative and French Literature, different exams and curricula, I feel confident helping you achieve your aims, whether personal, professional, or exam based. My research focuses on contemporary poetry, postcolonial literature, music and popular culture, ecopoetry and nature writing. I have taught a whole range of periods, movements and critical approaches. I also have many years' experience teaching English as a second language, including conversation skills for different contexts. I also teach writing skills, both professional and academic (including essay writing), and am happy to tailor classes to specific aims (for an event, a presentation, an interview, a specific professional field). I think that teaching works best when it works on your level: you can learn English through discussion of music, TV series, books, and more - I am happy to integrate grammar and learning points into this. In terms of Literature, we can approach a book, author, poem, play, theoretical work, movement or moment, together, and in different ways, drawing on the classes and materials I have developed over ten years in leading Parisian universities (I have also worked in the British and US university contexts). I am also happy to teach creative writing skills - particularly poetry and non-fiction, so please feel free to ask about this, too!

Singing and Songwriting can be a wonderful profession or mode of creative expression and some weekly scheduling in of practise and consistency will always improve and widen your knowledge and skills. I offer regular or one off classes with a focus on voice work, scales, Indian classical scales and songs. Each regular session we will work on the voice and finding your unique voice, developing singing technique, working on a song of choice. Where requested, we can work on songwriting technique and style as well as lyrical choices. You will learn how to create regularity to your singing and improve your vocal capacity, bringing depth to how you sing your chosen songs or allowing you to create your own compelling material that you can work on yourself or take to musicians.

English Language and Literature are compelling and multifaceted subjects that offer a deep dive into the art of communication and the power of storytelling. Engaging with these subjects allows you to explore the richness of the English language and the diverse forms of literary expression. English Language and Literature have always been my strongest subjects and have always peaked my interest, it would be an honour for me to allow you to also develop an interest in such a wonderful subject.

Would you like to learn how to write poetry or develop your poetic craft with the assistance of an experienced teacher? In this class, we'll work on shaping new drafts whilst learning about international poetic forms as well as producing some free verse work. We'll edit our material and, if we have multiple sessions, we'll put together a brief collection! We will explore the world of the senses, memories, and connect to language in a new, profound way. My course is not prescriptive, and we'll meet your voice wherever you're at right now. You'll be taught by a published poet with work experience in the UK and North America. I've taught Creative Writing to university students at a world-leading school, and worked with younger audiences, and I'm happy to work with a variety of forms in English. I studied for my MFA in Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia, and won a scholarship as the strongest poet in my cohort.

Studying English Literature is a wonderful way to try and make sense of the world. You will learn how to examine it critically, how to employ nuance and to empathise with others. After studying English Literature at the University of Liverpool, I am comfortable discussing a wide range of literary texts from plays to poems to novels from Shakespearean texts to the modern day.

I am an accomplished author and performance poet with two published poetry anthologies. My work as a poet not only involves writing but also performing, bringing the art of spoken word to life and engaging diverse audiences. Alongside my creative endeavors, I have a strong background in education. I have taught poetry and Sociology to both young people and adult learners, facilitating a deeper understanding and appreciation of these subjects. Through my teaching, I strive to inspire others to find their voices and explore the power of words, while also providing insight into the complexities of human society through the lens of Sociology.
