Music is a really beautiful art to learn. As a musician, I want my students to have a good experience and minimmum knowledge to develop new skills and learn new instruments. I am currently studying for music teacher at The Royal Conservatory in The Hague, and with experience in piano and bassoon teaching. I'm looking forward to develop new music classes where both me and the students can have a lot of fun with piano. I like to teach through a lot of games and music creation, and I'm always looking for new and creative ways of teaching. If you are just starting with the piano, we will focuse on playing without reading scores, which I will introduce later on. I like to work on pieces and songs that my students chose, so everyone feels confortable!

I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Get ready to be successful in your next audition! During our one-one-one lesson, I will walk you through step-by-step on what to do in your audition, and how to walk in looking like a professional! We will go over important audition etiquette, your audition materials, calming your nerves, and more information that will help you succeed! People auditioning for a local or school choir, musical, play, opera, cabaret, or any performance of any level will benefit from this! If you need help finding and/or choosing your audition materials, I am also available to help with that upon request. Please plan on meeting twice for this option; The first meeting will be discussing details of your audition and your performance style, and finding good materials that suit what you are auditioning for. The second meeting will be the actual audition prep lesson, where we will go over these materials and the other important audition information as discussed above.

I am an Italian soprano, graduated from the Dutch National Opera Academy. I work as a soloist as a freelance singer, and I teach singing to students of different levels and ages for many years. The most important thing during my lessons is to help the student find a healthy and comfortable way of singing! During the first part of the lesson, we will focus on Technique and breathing, while during the second part of the lesson we will focus on the repertoire chosen together with the student, applying the aspect of the technique that we worked on previously in the lesson.

My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education. My experience runs mostly in early and chamber music, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals. As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborated with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs. My main goal is to help the student discover her or his voice while enjoying making music. No experience is needed, just bring your enthusiasm and favorite music. I teach how to prevent Piano Injuries by focusing on proper technique, posture, and practice habits. My professional experience includes coaching students of all levels and ages. I successfully prepared the students with their Piano Exams like ABRSM, Trinity Grade, from grade 1-8, with merits and distinctions, and more advanced exams as well (Performance Diplomas). I teach for the Enjoyment of Music as well. I believe you can learn to play the piano at any age. My oldest student is over 75 years old and my youngest one has 3 years old. They made great progress, I am sure you could do the same. I've never met anyone who didn't have musical abilities! You can be a serious or a recreational player. The only requirement is the willingness to spend some time at the piano. I conduct my lessons using a combination of 4 cameras for optimum visibility, and a quality microphone which my students find very helpful. This allows them to see a very clear visual demonstration alongside my verbal explanation. I can confidently say that Online Lessons are the same as In-Person Lessons. CURRICULUM I do not believe one method works for all students. I have used many different lesson books and resources over the years. For beginners I like to use Alfred method books for basics concepts and for Classical and Jazz Piano technique I like to use ABRSM books (grade 1-8). If my student feels that they can learn better from another books, I am glad to adapt my teaching strategies to their needs. Along with the lesson books below, I use a lot of supplemental materials based on the students' interests. I also aim to teach their favorite songs as soon as possible. I like to clearly explain and demonstrate piano technique. In this way, the students are able to apply the information on similar passages from all genres of music.
