My name is Nuno and I am a clarinet teacher! I have a bachelor's degree in music and a master's degree from the Geneva Music School! I am currently doing my master's degree - soloist orientation - at Haute École de Musique de Lausanne I teach all ages and all levels! I am a very motivated teacher with a great capacity to adapt. I respond to the needs of each student, thus ensuring rapid technical and musical development. My experience includes serving as principal clarinetist with the Kharkiv Academic Symphony Orchestra and the National Ukrainian Symphony Orchestra (NUSO). These roles have given me extensive performance experience in both orchestral and solo settings, which I incorporate into my teaching to provide students with a well-rounded musical education. Clarinetist graduated from the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón and the Escuela Superior de Música de Cataluña. During my training, I have worked with great teachers who have given me a new way of seeing and loving music, which has led me to share music not only as a performer but as a teacher. As a teacher, I have experience in teaching clarinet classes, as well as music theory, musical initiation or piano initiation. In addition, I can help you with the preparation of entrance exams for both professional and advanced degrees. I have worked in several music academies with children and adults. Previously, he also completed a MASTER OF INTERPRETATION at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (2015-2017) in the class of Alain Crepin and Simon Diricq. He studied at the "Musikene" (Higher Conservatory of Music of the Basque Country) with Eric Devallon, Tomás Jérez, Antonio Felipe Belijar and Miguel Ángel Lorente. Passionate about multidisciplinary artistic creation, he thinks of the mixing of all the arts in the same show as an aesthetic goal. This type of research could be observed in his project for his final master's recital in Brussels where he created a project based on Maslow's theory of the hierarchy of human needs where he mixed live, recorded music, dance, light shows and effects under the name: “according to Maslow... ” In terms of his career as a concert artist, he has played in different ensembles (solo performances, duo, trio, quartet, orchestra...) and different countries such as Japan (Artisanal Musical Fair "Suono Italia" 2010), Belgium (Festival Musiq3 2016), Artonov Festival at BOZAR in 2016...), France (Dax chamber music festival 2011) or Spain (Music Festival “Quincena Musical” 2015, Aste Nagusia 2015, Heineken Jazzaldia 2014, Festival Kutxa 2015, Intercentros Melómano 2010).

I teach instrumental lessons (face to face from my Music Studio and online) on flute, piano, singing, saxophone and clarinet, as well as music theory. I also offer general musical skills sessions for young children who are not quite old enough to learn one specific instrument yet. I have experience as a Music Teacher and Lecturer for schools and colleges, so I also offer help with GCSE and A-Level Music. I attend regular Safeguarding training and I have an advanced DBS on the update service. I also have experience working with children who have special educational needs and EHCP’s. Learning music and an instrument as well as being part of a group or ensemble, is about much more than becoming a performer. The skills and techniques learnt, are incredibly versatile for use in other subjects as well as being valuable life skills. I also have experience of running school and college choirs, orchestras and ensembles. I choose repertoire of various genres for students to explore different sounds and styles, with some being quicker to learn but effective, to build a more instant satisfaction and confidence within the group, while other pieces are more technical, allowing students to challenge themselves. As well as being a solo Flautist, Singer, and Saxophonist, I am part of an acoustic Classical Flute and Guitar duo, a Folk duo, a Jazz ensemble and a Folk Rock band, performing at weddings, private functions, festivals and events.

In the classes we will address the different elements that make up music in different styles, knowing the particular language of each one. To do this, we will work on the different tools that we have with each instrument at the level at which each one is. We all know music but many times they make us believe that no, that it is necessary to know how to read and write. That is the graphic part of the language that we will learn little by little, music is a compendium of many other things. Some that we already know and others to know. We will study the use of the keys and the positions of the clarinet, or the sax, the best way to position ourselves whether we play standing or sitting, the most efficient way to use the air, the diaphragm, the muscles. We will learn to form a good embouchure and we will develop a study method adapted to each one, according to their tastes, possibilities and interests. I work with boys and girls from different parts of the world as well as with adults and the elderly. In my experience I learned that, truly, the greatest limitation that we find ourselves is the very feeling of not being able, of believing that we cannot. The support of a dedicated teacher is essential to get out of those places where we accidentally enter and that sometimes limit us. We all feel that sometime. It is time for us to remedy it. I will provide my own materials in pdf, video and audio. There is no age limit.

A graduate of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (Jazz), I have been involved in music my whole life, and a freelance professional since 2022. I have worked regularly in big bands and function bands across the UK and internationally. While my main expertise is in clarinet and classical music, I’m passionate about exploring other genres, including jazz and pop.
