In my experience over the past few years as a piano teacher to students of all levels and ages, I have found that people learn so much more when they are able to express themselves and have a fun time from the very first lesson. For this reason I focus on teaching piano and music through the lens of jazz, which allows for so much freedom as well as being really educational in all different styles of music. In my classes you will learn how music really works in a relevant way by studying music that you yourself enjoy listening to and would like to create, and practice dynamically using tools like backing tracks which make it feel like there is a band in the room with you! I also produce electronic/funk/neo soul music for my solo project and as a session musician. If learning music production interests you, I can also help you with that! As the leader of the Little Big Jazz Orchestra, which I founded in 2022, I explore rich emotional landscapes through expressive melodies, intricate harmonies, and unique orchestrations. My orchestra has received recognition, including a nomination for the Maastricht Jazz Awards, the Audience Award, and performances at festivals such as Jazz Out Fest and Make It Jazz Festival in Tilburg. Experienced teacher of Oud and oriental Arabic singing for over 11 years, I am Lebanese and currently residing in Germany. I studied for 8 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory. I taught at the Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and gave private lessons. In addition, I was conductor of the Loubnan Assalam oriental orchestra for over 5 years. My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run.
