Folk or classical acoustic guitar. The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation. For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...). For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...). Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. The kanun is an instrument of the zither family, used historically in various cultures including Arabic, Armenian, Turkish and Greek. I am a professional performer and hold a Bachelor's degree in Musicology from the University of Ioannina (Greece), specializing in the kanun. I am also currently a Master's student at the University of Macedonia (Greece) where I will be researching novel orchestrations of Greek art music of the 1960s, using the kanun. In the lesson we will be focusing on technique, repertoire (mainly Greek and Ottoman), makam theory and elements of taksim improvisation. The level and pace of lessons will completely adapt to the needs and interests of each student.

Turkish reed flute is an essential instrument of Turkish Classcial Music. It has a deep and dense culture dating from 13. century around. If you want to learn about how to perform it you first need a teacher educated by masters on this field. As of many teachers you can find online but you make sure that not every tutor meets with traditional style. Solfege and method are inseperable parts of the lessons. So for beginners and intermediate students must follow a compotent tutor to learn about the way of classic form.

Shakuhachi is a traditional Japanese bamboo flute. It is unique in historical sense, Shakuhachi was played in Edo period, not as a musical instrument but a tool for Buddhism training. It also has very unique character as a wind instrument, and there is very satisfying pleasure to play it. In this class, we would like to share the joy and mindfulness of Shakuhachi playing. It is sometimes hard to make sound with Shakuhachi, but there is so much to be inspired by feeling your breath turning into the sound, by playing the instrument. Koudou Tsugami is a professional Shakuhachi player, who has finished both the Bachelor and Master course at the Tokyo University of the Arts. Along with playing in concerts and lives, he also gives lessons daily and teach in workshops for beginners more than 50 times a year.

Flute is one of the most beautiful instrument. Not only it is looking good, but the sound is amazing. You can play flute in different ensembles or orchestras. It also sounds great by itself. This all will give you opportunities to have more fun with the instrument! I can help you to start play flute, piccolo or recorder. Also, if you already are an intermediate or advanced player, we can improve your skills more. Classes are going to have very positive and kind atmosphere and of course love for music.

I have played the flute for more than 20 years, and have been teaching since 2011. I offer flute lessons to children aged 8 and up, and adults at all levels from beginners to post Grade 8. I also teach recorder to younger beginners- I find this is a good stepping stone for younger children as it's more comfortable for smaller beginners to hold, and easier to make a sound on. Learn to pass exams or just for fun- many of my students achieve highly in ABRSM and Trinity grades, but some prefer not to take exams and this is fine too. Whatever your level, one to one tuition means that I can tailor my teaching to your needs as a flute player, and my teaching takes into account the reasons you learn an instrument, encompassing a wide variety of repertoire. I also teach music theory- lots of students come to me to help prepare for Grade 5 theory, and I also teach higher theory grades.
