This course is above all there to make you want to play bass, let it be fun! It will be based on the practice of the instrument, on the understanding and the role of the bass. The theory will be based on the progress of the practice. Step by step, practice and theory will thus be complementary, and will necessarily be useful! For many people improvisation is a scary word and having to improvise in a group or band is an alarming prospect. However, this really does not need to be the case. As long as you have a basic knowledge of how to play your instrument you will be able to improvise. Once you know the principle of how chords are formed you will soon be improvising with ease. If you play a keyboard instrument you will be able to improvise your own pieces and be able to entertain your friends at a moments notice. On the other hand if you play in a band or a group you will be well equipped to do a real 'jam' session. Whether you play a single line instrument (flute, saxophone, trumpet, violin etc.) or keyboard instruments, this class is for you.

My name is Federico and I am a professional and Award Winning saxophone player. I worked at Koninklijk Conservatorium of Bruxelles as an Assistant Professor of Jeroen Van Herzeele the jazz saxophone professor. I graduated at Conservatorio G.Martucci of Salerno (Italy) and had both Bachelor and Master with full marks with honors. During the course of my studies i also spent two academic years abroad , one at the Kask and Conservatorium of Ghent with the supervision of Bart Defoort and one at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Bruxelles with John Ruocco. In 2017 i won the "Massimo Urbani International Jazz Competition" prize that saw as head of the jury Kurt Rosenwinkel & Fabrizio Bosso. I play in several Jazz bands and I have been performing all around Europe. I recorded a solo album called "Right Now" with the famous Italian label "Philology Records" & the album"Supernova" with my own band. I also recorded several albums with different bands and of many styles, from jazz, funk to pop. I toured with the famous Italian Drummer Tullio De Piscopo (Pino Daniele, Mina, Astor Piazzolla's drummer) and also had the chance to make a variety of television appearances on Italian National Television (Rai1, Rai5, Rai3). - In a very calm and friendly environment, the classes are organized and planned according to the students' goals/wishes. As someone who was classically trained from age 6 to 18, I believe this is very important for the students well being. - If you want to improve your piano technique while also enjoying the lesson and having a sense of improvement every week, then these lessons are for you. - My classes are for everyone that wants to be able to play anything at the piano. Be it jazz, classical, pop, etc... Also, as a composer and pianist, I might give a different point of view from other piano teachers. Since 2015 I have been a private guitar tutor, teaching face to face and online. I cover a broad range of genres and have helped players build a strong foundation for anything from pop to metal. I provide written notes and video material and can help you organize your practice time. I set aside 30 minutes of prep time per lesson, which can also be used to transcribe and film tutorials for songs of your choice. I encourage all my students to apply the skills they learn in their own personal way. If you are beginner, you will get enjoy what you learn very soon. Your lessons will be simple and practical, with a healthy mix of technique, knowledge and repertoire, along with the basic music theory you need to get by. But of course practice is vital. This class requires basic musical skills. So be sure that you are able to repeat (sing) that you hear.
