This workshop will provide you with the theory necessary to adapt woven commercial patterns, and it will guide you thorugh the entire cutting and gluing process on a variety of shapes.
Besides covering the common technicals ( zips, trims and bones ), we'll also encourage you to experiment with some more creative techniques that we hope will inspire you!
You will receive at least 2 hours of tuition in total depending on your booking & needs.

This workshop covers professional measure-taking for both men and women, posture assessment, and guidance in drafting of your basic bespoke blocks.
We'll also discuss fit troubleshooting, correction, and the theory behind dressing people of all shapes and backgrounds for a multitude of purposes.
You will receive at least 2 hours of tuition in total, depending on your booking and needs
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Pattern Paper ( min. 1 x 1.5 metres ) or any other paper big enough to contain the full dimensions of your body's front and back, until the knees. We can send you some if you can't get a hold of any (for 50p plus delivery) - just send us an email.
- Patternmaster Ruler (if you already own one) - otherwise a regular square set ruler will do. We buy ours at Morplan, but you can also find them on Amazon and Ebay.

With that said, let me introduce myself.
I have a degree in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation and a degree in International Relations.
I have been teaching Italian as a foreign language for many years and in the past I have also been giving some Spanish classes, so I want to assure you that despite your level of Italian, we will not have communication problems and we will be able to use Spanish as an auxiliary language :)
Throughout my professional career I have had experiences in different types of classes, both in Italy and Spain. Thanks to them I have learned how important it is to use varied teaching methods since each person learns in their own way. During the first few lessons I will make sure you have the tools to pronounce and identify all the sounds of the Italian language. This step is essential! And it will make everything easier afterwards. When I teach Italian I try to avoid all the things that I hated as a language student. We will use real songs, real literature, do real conversation and storytelling. When you are engaging all your senses it is easier to keep your mind relaxed and to remember new words.

I speak a bunch of languages so I know a thing or two about how tedious language classes can be.
