About Me

I am a passionate and dedicated French tutor with a deep love for language learning and teaching. My journey with French began at the age of 16, and through hard work and dedication, I achieved my DALF C1 certification by 23. This personal experience has given me a profound understanding of the challenges and triumphs that come with mastering a new language as a non-native speaker.

My teaching experience includes working as an English as a Foreign Language Assistant in Lourdes, Occitanie, France where I developed skills in connecting with students, building their confidence, and experience in teaching a foreign language.

Having completed both GCSE and A-level French, I am well-versed in the structure and requirements of these exams. My university studies in language further deepened my understanding of the discipline required for academic success. Beyond the classroom, I bring real-world experience from living in France for a year, traveling there frequently, and spending three months in Quebec as an au pair. These experiences allow me to share valuable cultural insights that enrich the learning process and allow me to tailor my lessons to the needs of each student.

Currently, I am working part time as a language tutor and part time in a café. I'm looking to work full time as a tutor so I can visit my partner and friends in France more frequently whilst doing a job that I love.

Lucie
Private lessons and tutoring in French, English and Spanish
Graduated from a Masters in Comparative Literature and a Masters in Literary Translation, currently a freelance translator, I offer tutoring courses for middle and high school students in French. I have already accompanied several students in their preparation for the French bac, who have all made good progress. With my students, I insist on acquiring a good methodology to succeed, and put special emphasis on self-confidence: text commentary and essay should not be scary exercises! I work with the texts studied in class and adapt to the student's needs: revisions, feedback on corrected homework, preparation for oral exams, writing exercises ... I can also help students learn English and Spanish, which are my working languages. We look forward to meeting you, and taking part of the literary journey together, Lucia

Learn in a simple and effective way: Spanish - English - Portuguese
Good morning! Buenas dias! Delighted Michaël, teacher on the internet for more than two years. I would like to offer you a fun interaction that complements the school method. I have traveled around the globe which has led me to speak several languages and also to work in particular in England, Australia, Spain or the Dominican Republic. Basically I start the lessons by talking with my students about a bit of everything (in order to enrich the vocabulary). Depending on the level I adapt with files that are sent during the course. I also use the Callan method which works on repetition in order to properly assimilate useful words and phrases. All in a positive way :) Tell me your availability if you're interested for a first lesson. At worst it will have made you practice, at best you improve! Regards

My English lessons are for all levels and my style is relaxed - I will adapt to you! I have lived in several American cities (San Francisco, San Diego, Washington DC, New York) and I will be happy to talk to you about American culture. Cinema, music, politics, differences between the French and American models, comparisons between the West Coast and the East Coast... let's talk about what interests you! I know that what helped me most in my learning English was making English-speaking friends. My priority is that you talk to me about yourself while having fun to the point of forgetting that it's in English! Let's have fun above all. :)

Juliette
Private English lessons for students (primary, middle, high school) and adults
Hello all, I am Juliette, Doctor in Health Biology and holder of a Master's degree in international cooperation. Passionate about foreign languages and intercultural exchanges, I am currently learning 2 languages on my own: Spanish and Russian. After having taken LV1 English in middle school and high school (18/20 at the baccalaureate), I continued to learn English through my travels (Europe, India) and my research activity (I carried out a thesis in biology). I have written scientific articles in English, and I speak English on a daily basis with my foreign partner. I am level B2/C1: I got 925/990 on the TOEIC in 2021. Regarding the courses I offer: I favor dialogue, listening and the acquisition of vocabulary in learning a language, but I can also work specifically on grammatical or conjugation points, particularly if there are expectations linked to school programs. Whatever the level of English targeted and the possible blocking points, I think that regular listening and practice are a sure way to anchor the good automatisms of the language in the long term. By hearing certain turns of phrase, certain grammatical notions will end up coming spontaneously to your mind when you write and express yourself. What I propose, depending on your level and your requirements (exams, school programs, etc.): - define together a program likely to meet your expectations - deliver the course in English (even if it means speaking slowly, translating certain words, and mixing English with French at the beginning). Abroad, language courses are taught in the language, and this quickly contributes to progress :) - vary the learning supports and angles: written, oral and listening. Ideally, a session will consist of all 3. - Establish with you, depending on your availability, a program to do independently during the week (watch a short video on Monday, listen to a podcast on Wednesday, read the news on Saturday, etc.) - gradually support you, if you wish, towards autonomy in learning this language. Looking forward to meeting you and speaking English with you! Juliette

Silvia
Language courses at school level and for adults.
I am an Italian teacher (my mother tongue) in a French high school and college. I hold a Master's degree with honors in Foreign Languages and Literatures (English and French) from the University of Bologna. I also studied Spanish for five years and lived and worked in Spain for two years, reaching C2 level. I have experience as a teacher of English for high school students, Spanish for migrants and as an educator in educational projects for children and adolescents with special needs. During these experiences, I was able to develop and perfect a method that was both didactic and educational, based on active listening to needs, trust and cooperation. When it comes to the material, I try to make it as dynamic and creative as possible, aware of the fact that language learning is more effective if placed in situational contexts and based on personal inclinations.

Anita Myriam Emma
Literature and social science (and more) class to evolve minds
Economics is the unstoppable subject for young people in high school, whether they are in business or not, and it increasingly leaves many perplexed. I thus set myself up as a "solver" of the problems of incomprehension of learners around the economics course as well as those related to the writing of subjects for better class averages. Languages represent, among other things, the cornerstone of a more than bilingual world! In addition to teaching them how to better handle French grammar, spelling and conjugation, they will learn English and its many turns of phrase with me to be even more brilliant.
