About Me

Cbloxx (Jay Gilleard) is an English muralist, painter and multidisciplinary artist. They became most well known for co-founding internationally acclaimed street art duo Nomad Clan who notably painted the tallest mural in the UK. Currently based in the wilderness of the Yorkshire Pennines having left the dust bowl of Los Angeles, Cbloxx resumed solo practice in 2020 after 8 transformative years touring globally with Nomad. A tangled myriad of humanitarian issues sits at the epicentre of their portfolio, through public art murals that attempt to reconnect local people to their environments, honouring local community heritage through stories and folklore.

Cbloxx’s predominant weapon of choice is aerosol, with over 18 years experience working tirelessly with the medium. Layers of fine freehand details bring an otherworldly realism to their famed portraiture, faces of triumph, resilience, passion.
Cbloxx public art practise has deep roots in their studio work, an accomplished oil/acrylic painter as well as recently developing stone carving.

'This winter I am offering my students the chance to hunker down and work with me online from my home studio & maybe even my stone studio if internet permits!

Kenza
Trained painter and Creator-Researcher in the arts gives courses in Painting with historical influences
This course offers an in-depth exploration of painting, with an emphasis on the techniques, styles, and artistic movements that have marked the history of art. Intended for students of all levels, the course combines practical painting sessions with theoretical studies of iconic works, allowing participants to draw inspiration from old and contemporary masters to develop their own style. Currently studying art history at the École du Louvre, and having studied in prestigious schools such as the École Olivier de Serres, I am a creator-researcher in contemporary art, specializing in culinary design, which enriches my pedagogical approach with a unique interdisciplinary perspective. Students will learn to master various painting techniques, such as oil, acrylic, and watercolor, while discovering how these mediums have evolved over the centuries, techniques that I learned in particular during my professional experience in the museographic workshops (decoration painting) of the Louvre Museum. In parallel, discussions and analyses of works of art will allow us to situate the practice of painting in a broader historical and cultural context.

MENTORING IN ARTS : Discover how to say something through your artistic work.
I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on. You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns. Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

Painting in oils and beyond: Allow me to help you speak with the language of fine art
I have been involved in art for twenty years. I started out painting and selling both oils and watercolours. This developed to become, for a while, the main source of our household income. I managed to have solo exhibitions in Devon and Kent in the UK, as well as USA, Japan and, when I lived in France, several there too. When I returned from France, I started my academic studies in Fine Art Sheffield Hallam and Leeds Arts University where I receive a BA and MA in fine art. I have great interest in the theory of fine art, such as composition, perspective, colour theory; the technology of fine art in understanding materials used and techniques applied. The theories of doing that allow successful expression. As well as purely fine art theory, this allows me to bring in psychology and other scientific thought, not to usurp fine are theory, but to bolster it both to confirm existing theories as well as opening out possible avenues for discovering new ones. In painting I see myself as impressionist but recently have moved more towards realism to better communicate with internet viewer. This is because, when a piece is photographed, people cannot see complexity of the brush strokes used. I like to paint genre where complicated compositions and intellectual work is involved but I also do portraits, still life and landscape. In sculpture I use mostly archaic composition, as exemplified by Henry Moore and Aristide Maillol. I really enjoy sharing my love of art with other. I believe everybody can express themselves through art (and probably should) and I love being a catalyst to make that happen. I do not use restrictive instruction where I tell students what they must do, but help them develop themselves - help them to discover their own way while sharing helpful insights from my own practice and wide knowledge of fine art practice and theory.
