About Me

Since September 2019, I have been an online chemistry tutor for IBDP/A-level/O-level students.

For all tuitions, basic concepts with a lot of worked examples will be taught for students to apply and solve the recent past examination problems. A timely short written test with MCQ will be given to monitor each student's progress.

Experience / Qualifications

I completed IBDP cat. 2 & 3 trainings in 2017 and 2019 respectively.

In the 2017 Nov IBDP Chemistry exam, 21.4% of distinctions (‘7’), 35.7% of grade A(‘6’) and 21.4% of grade B(‘5’) were achieved respectively.

In July 2019, Extended Essay candidate managed a score of 30/34 in Biology.

In Jan 2020, 4.1% managed distinction, 20.8% grade A and 37.5% grade B in IBDP first year semestral exam.

In July 2020, 15.8% of distinction (‘7’) and 26.3% of grade A (‘6’) of IA candidates directly supervised by me was awarded respectively.
My 4-step teaching pedagogy Step 1: Introduction of a lesson - lateral thinking skill. To enable students to use lateral thinking skills to associate a new set of learning goals with their prior knowledge. An effective way is by giving relevant examples or worked examples. Step 2: Development of a lesson To make abstract concepts more concrete, three types of skills to be developed: (a) Visualisation skill Use of molecular models to improve students’ visualisation skills. Students are to analyse how and why the atoms of a molecule are arranged in 3D according to its chemical formula. (b) Observation skill Use of experiments or videos or any hands-on activities to enable students to observe and analyse the changes introduced during a chemical reaction or inter-molecular interaction. (c) Analytical skill Emphazise on chemical formula and balancing a chemical equation. Students who use molecular models to learn the molecular structure or shape of a chemical formula will be more analytical in representing chemical formulae and equations. Step 3: Questioning It is used to monitor the focus and learning progress of students and to arrest any misconceptions being developed during a lesson. Step 4: Maximise the learning outcomes Identify the learning outcomes by giving higher order or challenging questions to students, hence learning goals which need to be learnt again or adjusted can be identified.

I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on. You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns. I am an artist and philosopher from Amsterdam currently living in Antwerp. I studied in London where I acquired a BA from Art Academy London and a BA in philosophy from St Mary's University London. Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don't always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division.
