Flute lessons/traverso lessons with an experienced and professional teacher

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
Teaching from my experience as a performing musician and my stage experience is one of the important principles in my teaching practice. Sharing what I have experienced myself.
By teaching on different sides of the world and with different age categories, I have built up a lot of experience.

At a certain point, teaching for me became much more than just keeping the student busy playing pieces of music.

By studying different aspects such as sound, breathing, posture and other aspects of flute playing, I began to see very clearly how all elements of playing are influenced by our personality, emotions and feelings. And in this way, playing the flute becomes much deeper and more beautiful than "just" making music, then you get to know yourself on a different level and on a different level of making music.

During my career I have played and continue to play several flutes: modern flute, piccolo, traverso (baroque flute) and bansuri (Indian flute). That gives me a lot of vision and insight into flute playing in general.
In addition to my music activities, I am also a certified yoga teacher. From my yoga training, I have a clear idea of anatomy and the structure of the human body, which in my view is very important to help students find their own beautiful and natural sound.

It is important to me to view each person as personally as possible and to help them as individually as possible to find their own way to music and the flute.
I not only give flute lessons for the modern flute, but also lessons for the traverso.

Don't have an instrument yet? Especially for a trial lesson, I have a flute to get acquainted with the instrument. And I also help you get a good instrument.

In addition to physical lessons, I also enjoy teaching online lessons. I also have a lot of experience with this. To start with, by taking these types of lessons yourself (for example, the lessons from India with bansuri), but also by giving these types of lessons a lot.

Flute lessons (E/NL/GER) for beginners to advanced flutists
Hi, I am Thore. I’m a German Bachelors degree flute student at the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen. During my studies here I could and still can gather a lot of knowledge about methodology and pedagogy and could already make a few teaching experiences. For me teaching means learning from each other. Thus the student of course gets insight to my knowledge about music and instrumental technique but I will also learn a lot from the student about the individual factors of flute playing and music making in general. In my lessons I focus a lot on breathing and posture because for me these two are the most influential factors to healthy and beautiful playing. I am also open to incorporating the students musical interests e.g. Disney- and Pop-songs. Lessons can be conducted in Dutch, English and German.

Laura
Flute and Music Theory tuition for students of all levels
I have played the flute for more than 20 years, and have been teaching since 2011. I offer flute lessons to children aged 8 and up, and adults at all levels from beginners to post Grade 8. I also teach recorder to younger beginners- I find this is a good stepping stone for younger children as it's more comfortable for smaller beginners to hold, and easier to make a sound on. Learn to pass exams or just for fun- many of my students achieve highly in ABRSM and Trinity grades, but some prefer not to take exams and this is fine too. Whatever your level, one to one tuition means that I can tailor my teaching to your needs as a flute player, and my teaching takes into account the reasons you learn an instrument, encompassing a wide variety of repertoire. I also teach music theory- lots of students come to me to help prepare for Grade 5 theory, and I also teach higher theory grades.

In addition to my passion for the flute, I am also an accomplished composer with a portfolio of commissioned works premiering at renowned venues and exhibitions worldwide. Notable highlights include composing for Wessel Flutes, Berlin Fashion Week, Nxt Museum (Amsterdam), and Adidas Y-3. My work as a composer heavily influences my approach to teaching. Beyond emphasising technical proficiency and a solid grasp of music theory, I am dedicated to nurturing creativity in all of my students.

Flute Lessons For Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Students
This class is for students of any age who wish to learn the transverse flute. Learning an instrument takes time and commitment, but it's hugely rewarding - and it doesn't have to be boring! I have experience teaching students of all age and levels and I specialise in tailoring my teaching to meet the individual needs of each student. Beginner flute lessons are suitable for students learning from scratch or those already playing up to about ABRSM Grade 2 level. In beginner flute lessons, you will learn the fundamentals of making a sound and play your first notes, as well as the basics of reading music. As lessons progress, you will learn your first short pieces and maybe even prepare for graded exams. Intermediate lessons are suitable for students already playing at about ABRSM Grade 3 to Grade 5 levels. In these lessons, you will build on what you already know to expand your abilities on the flute. You will learn more about different musical styles and techniques and develop more confidence to express yourself through music. Advanced lessons are for students already playing at about ABRSM Grade 6 and beyond. Depending on each student, lessons could involve growing more skills to take the advanced grade or diploma exams exams through to learning the skills to put together a recital programme or prepare for a music college audition. There is wide scope in these lessons to focus on your areas of interest, while still keeping an eye on the solid foundations of good flute technique and musicianship.
