Art in public spaces This workshop is about getting to know a new place and portraying it artistically.

Translated by Google. Click to view original.
To do this, we stay at the location, we explore it, what do we notice? Who uses it and how? Are there strange objects or situations that irritate me here?
How can I capture or portray this place artistically?
The medium can be freely chosen; it can be a photograph or series, a painting, a drawing, a map, a film or something else. It can be a sketch for a larger project or a test system.
Examples of artworks are shown as input, and there are collegial sessions where the participants discuss their designs and get feedback. I support the participants throughout the entire process.
The course is structured in such a way that we alternate between exploring the site and working time in the studio.

About Me

*1987 Vera often works in artist teams or collectives. She often creates site-, theme- and context-specific works. Among other things, pursues an artistic practice in which she documents inconspicuous situations in everyday life, thereby creating a sprawling video archive. In the hope of being able to better store and collect these moments, captures those "unimportant" moments with her mobile phone camera. Depending on the collaboration and context, this video archive is accessed and new works are created from it. With the same attention, has recently been roaming YouTube and using this source to archive absurd moments. then creates new compositions from these YouTube snippets.

She really is a great teacher and artist!
If you enjoy bright colors and want to learn to paint abstractly with liquid watercolor paint, this workshop is for you. At the beginning of the painting session we will become familiar with the wet-on-wet technique. We will learn to let the chance of the colors running into each other guide us. In this workshop you will learn to find the balance between chance and gentle brush control. After a short drying time, the fine lines are then applied with fine brushes. Watercolor painting as a meditation technique: Simply starting and working with your hands is a self-healing process, something I rediscovered especially during the Corona crisis. Watercolor painting is relaxing and has a meditative effect, it slows you down and when you wake up from the trance you have created a finished watercolor. What you get: • All necessary materials such as watercolor paper, paints and brushes • Individual support and templates for inspiration • Everything that is created in the workshop • Hopefully a new passion What else you should know: • If you have your own liquid watercolors and paper or brushes, please bring them with you • The workshop can be held in English or German

Art Class! Learn to Draw and Paint, Keep a Sketchbook and Develop your Art Skills!
I like to start class with the fundamentals! Once we’ve covered those we can get on to working towards your art goals. I prefer to tailor class towards what you’re interested in and help you gain the skills that will get you towards what you want to do art wise. Whether that is landscapes, portraits, painting in oils, acrylics, or watercolours, or drawing what you see, or drawing what you imagine. I look forward to helping you gain the skills you’ll need!

Paul
Drawing with Paul. Learn the fundamentals of drawing so that you create the art you dream of.
Michelangelo say that you don't draw with your hand, but with your head, and that is true. Drawing is the most versatile skill you can learn, and the basis for infinite routs to express yourself. From drawings we have mapped and planned human civilisation as we know it. It is the original written language, and it is so much a part of who we are that even the youngest of us know what it is to create meaningful marks on a piece of paper. Drawing has inspired my life and I hope that I can share the things I've learned with you to help you on your path. There is nothing more frustrating then getting stuck as an artist, or looking at the great work of people that came before you and wondering how will I ever get there? It is a journey that lasts a lifetime, but it doesn't need to happen alone. There are ways to grow your skills, that those amazing artists did, and have been passed down. Ways to break down what you are doing on the page to truly create the illusion of depth, so that it feels real. I can give you the building blocks to understand how to create realism. I will also help you build on our own natural creativity, and hopefully keep you from some of the growing pains I had to go through in the pursuit of my craft.
