I'm Sam, and recently finished my master studies for jazz drums at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent. You're welcome to join my lessons for an individual approach where we'll delve into the world of drumming at your level. This can range from your very first steps on a drum kit to refining technique and sound. Together, we’ll work on a musical foundation you can build on! Of course, you can also come to me with specific questions. Lessons take place at my home. Together, we’ll look for a tailored path. I offer personalised lessons for all levels, from beginners to advanced players. In flute/piccolo lessons, we work on tone, technique, breathing, and a wide range of repertoire. Music theory lessons cover everything from the basics to more advanced topics, including harmony, rhythm, ear training, and score reading. Whether you are approaching music making for the first time or desire to deepen your understanding of music, lessons are structured to support and inspire. Lessons are open to all ages, and I aim to create a focused yet enjoyable learning environment.

During the lessons we will learn some basic concepts of musical theory, we will know different instruments and music genres. Of course we will also sing and play different songs. The goal of this course is to get familiar with music as a way of playing and expressing ideas and emotions, all in a fun and respectful environment.

One of the goals of the course? to pass on my passion and make music. Together, whether you are beginners or experienced, we will explore: -work on sound, posture -the study of music (jazz, improvisation, funk, rock, world music etc.) -work on your creativity. -hand and foot coordination -develop your own autonomy with the instrument -rhythmic reading, technique (snare drum etc.) J I always take care to adapt and shape my student's course for him/her. In de zangles beginnen we met het aanleren van basistheorie over mindset, ademhaling, ademsteun,... Voor leerlingen met al enige ervaring op zangvlak gaan we meer in op verschillende soorten manieren van zingen bijvoorbeeld. kopstem, mixed-voice, emoties tijdens het zingen, microfoontechnieken,... Wil je specifiek gerichte tips voor bijvoorbeeld. optredens, muziekkeuzes,...? Dit is zeker mogelijk! Ik kijk samen met jou wat jouw noden zijn en wat je graag wilt leren. We gaan niet alleen kijken naar de stem maar ook naar 'Hoe sta ik op een podium?' of 'Hoe verminder ik stress?'. Ik ga dus ook kijken naar de mentale en emotionele aspecten. We will not only look at the voice but also at “How do I stand on stage?” or “How do I reduce stress?”. So I'm also going to look at the mental and emotional aspects. I am a professional violinist. I graduated with distinction at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Master) and hold a Bachelor Diploma from Codarts (Rotterdam). I also pursued a masters degree in Music Education at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. I teach students of all ages and levels. I have thirteen years of teaching experience in the Netherlands and in Belgium ( privately and at music schools/muziekacademies). In my lessons I help the students to find a good contact with the instrument and cultivate a positive relationship with music by integrating the development of aural skills, sense of rhythm and an optimal body use, enabling them to connect with their musical imagination.
