Preparation course - Preparation for the IEP competition - History

Master student at Sciences Po Lyon, I can give lessons in several subjects in maths, history, English, economics and help with homework until high school. With me, your child will learn to have a real working method so that he can eventually work independently. My lessons are prepared upstream to best suit the student and in agreement with him and the parents. I have many experiences in private lessons and tutoring. I always adapt to the student I have. I try to understand its shortcomings and work to the maximum while consolidating its strengths. I have taken a few years off to complete my PhD in History and I would not like to stop teaching and learning in the meantime. I guess it is a cliché, but it is amazing what I have learned by teaching. If anything can distinguish me, it is that my personal experience has shown me that, when it comes to learning, complexities such as age are simply that. For those who do not understand anything in their history or English classes, do not worry, I'm here to help you. For history classes, it can be done in French or English, depending on level and requests. For English classes, I will promote a conversation exclusively in English, for beginners, I will adapt.

I offer classes on History, Geography, and Political Science, with over 11 years' of experience in these subjects, both professionally and academically. I hold Bachelor's Degrees in both History and Political Science (from the University of Florida), as well as a Master's in Political Science, specifically European Politics (from KU Leuven). I have extensive experience in a wide range of historical and political subjects and have always had a keen interest in history and the social sciences. Additionally, previously I have been a journalist (dealing with Competition Law) and currently am an editor working on a wide variety of subjects for organizations such as the UNHCR and Goethe Institut, among others. I am capable of teaching and lecturing on numerous historical and political events and periods in history, with myself having specialized in European history, American history, African history, as well as the Medieval period and Antiquity.

History and Political Science are intertwined subjects with multidisciplinary approaches. To study one of these, one must understand the other. I offer classes that teach either of the two subjects, as well as both (if required) with aspect to the other. How often have we wondered about historical events with respect to Politics? Do we know that the Romanovs were related to the British Royal Family and how their brutal killings was shaped by geopolitics of the era, or how Hitler's death was a highly controversial political debate? You see how history and politics cannot be separated. It is also undeniable that having knowledge of the two subjects can help you achieve higher marks and credits, as well as a deeper understanding and passion for the subjects.

I teach English classes up to C1 level. I have a degree in English Studies and I have lived, studied and worked in cities such as London and Lancaster in the United Kingdom. With my English classes I can help you achieve your goals in this language, and much more. For me, the most important thing is the needs of my students and this is something I have always kept in mind. Fortunately, thanks to my degree I had the opportunity to work as a Spanish teacher in London for a year, and it was a very pleasant experience. I am currently doing a Master's degree in Spanish for foreigners and I would like to complement my training, while putting into practice the knowledge I have acquired!
