Introduction to MAO (Computer Aided Music)

Professional musician and certified music teacher (CAPES), I offer private MAO lessons for those who want to venture into computer-assisted musical creation! The lessons take place in my fully equipped home studio (monitoring speakers, keyboards, etc.). We will learn the basic techniques of musical creation (audio/midi jack, drum rack, arrangements etc.) on a computer (Ableton, Cubase or Logic Pro software), we can also approach sound engineering including some notions of acoustics to perfect your overall mastery (mixing, frequencies, waves, etc.)! The course takes place in joy and good humor while always trying to give your best to progress! All people who want to discover computer music even without any knowledge are welcome :) MY SKILLS : • Student at ENM (national music school in Villeurbanne): classical piano and jazz for three years as well as in MAO class (computer-assisted music) for three years • Holder of a Master 2 in musicology: courses in musical writing, arrangement and music theory • Certified music education and choral singing teacher: CAPES obtained in 2017 • Holder of a CEM (certificate of musical study) in music theory • More than 13 years of MAO practice in different musical groups (several collaborations with DJ including ZANE LD, work in collaboration with a Beatmaker for a personal project...) • Author - composer - performer in several professional musical projects with regular stage production in the Paris and Lyon regions Get started and we look forward to meeting you :)

Currently a student in musical education at CEFEDEM Auvergne Rhône Alpes, I graduated from the Conservatory of Chalon-sur-Saône with a triple DEM of Amplified Current Music, Creation-Composition of contemporary music and concrete music. I also obtained a license in Musicology at the University of Dijon. The courses can take the form of project follow-up to anchor your learning at the heart of your personal practice and they can also take the form of more technical courses. They can take place in my own Home Studio or at home, of course for travel costs. The form of the courses is fully customizable and adaptable to all levels, so we can approach the basics, such as setting up your own home studio and learning the basic software. We can also discuss advanced software techniques, mixing and why not composition methods and harmony if you are tempted! Passionate about music and sound technique in the broadest sense, I will welcome you with great pleasure in my studio! Above all, it seems important to me to say that the courses are placed under the sign of good humor and fraternity, which is a prerequisite more than necessary for me to be able to share this passion that drives us all! ;)

Currently a DJ and having done 5 years of piano, I offer my services for private music lessons. Musical composition (by computer): I can teach the basics of composition and combine my personal experience with the course to give you a solid foundation for your personal development. This course is designed for aspiring music producers who want to start creating music using digital tools. Whether you're completely new or have some basic knowledge, you'll learn how to build professional-sounding tracks from scratch. We’ll cover essential concepts like beat making, working with MIDI and audio, using virtual instruments and effects, and basic mixing techniques. You’ll also get hands-on with a DAW (such as Ableton Live or FL Studio) to produce your own music. By the end of this course, you’ll have the skills to confidently start or continue your music production journey.

Logic Pro is a powerful but complex software tool that can be used to create everything from very basic recordings and compositions, to huge professional productions. You'll learn all the skills you need to set up and use Logic Pro; how to record and edit audio, use software instruments and plug-in effects, and how to mix and process your sounds. Lessons can either be conducted online, or at my studio, if you're local to Plymouth (it's not in a restaurant, I don't know why it says that!) I've been using Logic Pro for almost 25 years and have taught it at University level.

I’m a Music Producer with experience in sound design and composition for moving image. I have been using Ableton as my main daw for 12 years for electronic music production, ranging from pop and experimental music to studio recording sessions. 
In the last few years, I’ve been focusing on assisting producers and songwriters with developing and improving their live electronic performance workflow. I can also provide consultancy on this topic, whether you’re interested in performing or rearranging your material. This course is recommended for anyone who wants to discover the basics of Ableton Live or learn new music production techniques to extend their practice. The course is flexible and can be tailored to everybody’s needs. I teach everything related to electronic music, both theoretically and practically: DJing, digital and analog production, audio recording, mixing, compositing, etc. My classes are tailored to each individual's needs and expectations. In addition to video lessons, I can also host classes directly in my studio to practice directly on my equipment (mixing desk, vinyl turntables, synthesizer, modular, drum machine, effects machine, piano, etc.). In this class you will be able to explore logic, through the use go stock plug-ins, recording mixing and mastering techniques. This will further enable a better understanding of how to use this DAW to a degree that can be implemented in the industry.

In these private lessons I will cover a broad range of topics that you'd like to learn about using Ableton Live! With over a decade in teaching experience across a broad range of topics, I'm prepared to customize lessons to make sure you get the most out of your time. To do this, we'll spend about 5-10 minutes just going through your own music background and experience (don't worry, this won't count towards lesson time) so I can get a sense of how best to progress your skills. Topics may include: beat-making, melody/harmony writing, arrangement, workflow tips, sound design, mixing and mastering, recording, live performance, sampling, and pretty much anything else you can think of to get your sounds off the ground. Any genre is okay!

Beatmaking is the art of putting the right drums with the right melodies : but it's deeper than that. Music composition encompasses a lot of skills and requires a deep understanding of our own tastes, culture, and social skills in order to create the most authentic sound that we can think of.
