Life is a complex phenomenon and its emergence has been my major curiosity since childhood. I thought I could understand the concepts of the emergence of life by studying molecular biology. Therefore, I did my bachelor's studies in molecular biology and genetics at Yildiz Technical University. My bachelor's education has provided me with a comprehensive understanding and specific skills related to molecular biology. I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Chemistry & Life Sciences at Chimie Paris - Tech/Université PSL to understand the chemistry behind the transition of non–living matter to living matter and improve my perspective on the chemistry of life. I am confident that I can bring some fresh perspectives to complex problems of these topics with my background and skills and can teach fundamentals of these fields.

In bioprocessing you cannot have the cake and eat it too. Constantly, you need to make choices about which unit operation is best suited for a particular application and what are the trade offs. Because of so many factors that guide this decision, it can be daunting for starting biotech/bioprocess students to be overwhelmed. I was definitely overwhelmed in my 1st year of uni. But after 5 years studying the subject, I am here to help you to think like an engineer and make informed choices based on the context of the process and product. In my class, I will teach you the theoretical background behind bioreactors and common unit operations (e.g. filtration, centrifugation, chromatography) and how to implement them into a bioprocess. This class is best suited for university students (bachelor or master), people joining/switching industry or just people interested in how pharmaceuticals are made! If you are a university student, we can can discuss your own assignments or projects. My tutoring style is discussion-based. We will have a conversation about the subjects rather than a lecture, which will give you the tools and confidence to better synthesize the course content and present your ideas in a specific manner. I create my own materials for each class, including definitions, calculations, diagrams and past-exam questions. I use a touchscreen tablet to interactively annotate our class worksheets, draw P&IDs, structures and mechanisms, write down chemical reactions and step-by-step calculations. I have a passion for science, especially life science. After having finished my master's degree in Biotechnology and working as a molecular oncology researcher for 3 years, I now wish to share my passion for this field with budding, curious minds. In this class, based on the requirement of the student, I will focus on basic or advanced life science topics such as molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry and bioanalytical techniques. If you are in school and need your basics covered, I can teach basic biology and chemistry in the simplest manner. Like all my classes, this is student-led: you tell me what particular area you want to learn about, and I'll teach it to you. If you just want to know more about how we function and don't know where to start, don't worry! I'll take you through basic undergraduate topics like Biological Chemistry and Cell Biology, and as your knowledge of the fundamentals grows we'll move on to more advanced topics such as Metabolism, Genomics, Biotechnology, Microbiology and Immunology, and you can direct your own learning journey. I have a first-class Biochemistry degree from Imperial College with particular strengths/academic interests in Antimicrobial Resistance, Immunology, Biotechnology and Plant Science.
