After developing Muscular Tension Dysphonia in 2010 and not singing for almost two years, she overcame this vocal disorder after working with some of the best voice and voice rehabilitation specialists in the UK. This experience further motivated her interest in teaching the following to her students in contemporary voice* using knowledge and training gained by renowned vocal coaches, ENTs and voice rehabilitation specialists: - Vocal technique, health and hygiene - Guidance in voice rehabilitation with students experiencing or recovering from vocal issues - Managing Performance Anxiety - Breath control - Microphone technique and stage performance - Basic music theory - Artist development and mentoring Katherine has over 15 years experience in one-to-one lessons, teaching students aged 4 years old to 50 years old of all levels and has developed programs for small choirs. Please be advised students under the age of 9 years old will be offered 30 min lessons only and will comprise of a combination of music and singing-related games and exercises. Also offering: - Live performance workshops *Contemporary music styles like R&B, soul, neosoul, pop, country. She does not teach classical or jazz. **Please note, 30 min lessons are only for students aged 10 and under. Adult students will be required to book one-hour lesson times to ensure they get the most out of their lessons and therefore their money's worth. Requests for 30 min lessons from adults will be declined and asked to book a one hour lesson.

I have just completed my music degree where I specialised in contemporary classical singing and opera. I have experience singing jazz, pop and musical theatre and have completed one year on a Vocal Studies course at a Music Conservatoire. I have Grade VIII in Violin and Classical Voice, Grade VI in piano and Pop and Jazz Vocals and recently achieved a 1st for my final degree recital and composition. The techniques that you gain from classical training can be applied to all genres and give a strong foundation to be able to perform any music you may be interested in. I can also offer help with music theory and shape what I teach to meet your interests and goals. I aim to help you truly love music and gain confidence in your performance and musicianship skills in a safe and encouraging environment. No matter what level/ability you are we will improve your skills and confidence in singing and have lots of fun whilst doing so!

I am a professional lyric soprano graduated from the CNSM of Lyon. I participate in productions with the Concert d'Astrée, the Choir of Namur, Accentus, the Opéra National de Lorraine, Choir de la Chapelle Harmonique. I am also on the lists of the Montpellier Opera, Concert Spirituel, Ensemble Correspondances and Radio France choir. I have just finished a production of Haydn's Die Schöpfung at the Opéra National de Lorraine last January-February, conducted by Marta Gardolinska (Guillaume Fauchère choir director), directed by Kevin Barz. I sang solo and in chorus the role of the Trojan woman in Campra's Idomenée in 2021 at the Lille Opera and the Berlin Staatsoper, staging of the fura dels baus, I also sang the solo of Campra's Requiem at the philharmonies of Luxembourg, Lille, Essen Cologne and Berlin with the Concert d'Astrée in 2019 directed by Emmanuelle Haïm. In 2019, I participated in the production of Les Indes Galantes by Rameau with the Namur Choir at the Opera Bastille, directed by Leonardo Garcia Alarcon and directed by Clement Cogitore. In 2022, I participated in numerous productions, notably with the Accentus choir in Beethoven's 9th symphony, the missa solemnis or even a polyphonic baroque project. In 2022 I participated in the production of Hulda by Cesar Franck with the Namur Choir at the Grand Manège de Namur, the Liège Philharmonic and the Théatre des Champs Elysées. My background as well as my skills in lyrical singing allow me to master my instrument well. I am a very curious and very patient person, and I like to find solutions to problems. Transmitting my passion to students wishing to discover or develop their voices, discover their artistic personality would be a great pleasure for me. If I can transmit this joy that I have from singing as well as my acquired knowledge, it would be a great exploration for them as for me.

As a lyrical singer I had the opportunity to perform at an international level but also to continue to teach my profession. My "teacher creed" In vocal pedagogy, I would say that I always find myself "face to face" with a new and unique instrument - the voice: each student is unique and that is why we must look for individual didactic and methodological tools. This means that I am able to lead a singing lesson in different ways so that I can find the vocal exercises or personalized and appropriate pieces of music to get the most out of each student. My vocal technique is based on breathing exercises, awareness of the whole body as an instrument, knowledge of the biological principles of breathing as well as the artistic meaning of breathing. My basic goals are: to maintain a feeling of high position while singing (singing with resonance), binding purely distinctive vowels (legato singing), developing the range of a voice step by step and balancing the vocal registers. While "building" the voice, I take the assessment and development of a student's personality seriously, which I think is undeniable in arts education. It also consists in knowing the appropriate repertoire according to the vocal development of each student.

The watchword is pleasure! We will take the time to find our way/voice. From body preparation to singing, vocalizations and breathing exercises, you will progress quickly. We can also see points of music theory and harmony in a little more depth if desired. The course of an hour of lessons: - 15 mins of body and vocal warm-up - 15 mins of rhythmic music theory/melodic music theory/harmony (if desired) - 30 mins of singing on backing track or I can accompany you on piano or guitar. Of course this is only a typical example. Above all, I will listen to you and we will work according to your desires and needs. I am a professional vocalist with a lot of experience on stage (musicals, concerts, cabaret and music hall) and as a teacher. Hello and welcome ! My name is Charlotte, I am a singing teacher and professional opera singer. I graduated from the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris at the highest level with honours and I have a Masters in Opera Singing from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London, where I have won several prizes. I am the recipient of a prestigious scholarship from the Malvina and Denise Menda Foundation of the Fondation de France. I also have a BA in Art History from the University of Cambridge and an MA in Art History from the Courtauld Institute. I teach the principles of vocal technique that form the basis of all singing styles: finding an ideal posture and alignment of the body and the air column and eliminating unnecessary tension; optimizing breathing and support (singing with the whole body); beauty and homogeneity of the voice in all registers (homogeneity especially in lyrical singing); clear and precise articulation in all languages. Of course, these bases adapt differently depending on the styles and offer keys to freeing the voice, and not to restricting the singer! My teaching is holistic and I take into account the whole person with great sensitivity. The voice is at the center of the body and mind, and singing unifies the two. I deeply believe in the well-being that singing brings and its power to release. My life as an artist began as a classical dancer (I was a dancer in the young dancers program at the Royal Opera House, London) and this taught me a good awareness of my body and how to transmit it to others. Singing is mastered by listening to one's body. I also practice meditation and yoga at a high level and I transmit these techniques of connection to the body and breath, and the state of relaxation that they bring.
