At The Hap'ning Place we offer Kodaly Music Theory Lessons to all ages. The Kodaly Method is an extremely successful way to learn musicianship; initially with the instrument you are born with (your voice!!) Kodály's concepts are based on teaching, learning and understanding music through the experience of singing, giving direct access to the world of music with the most universal instrument. The Kodály approach to music education is student centered and skills are taught in a logical, sequential manner. These can be individual lessons, as a part of your instrumental training or taken as a separate class. If there are enough students, we will offer a group class and reduce the rate per person. Hi, I'm Giacomo and I'm currently in my 4th year studying Electronic Music at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. In this class we will look at various production techniques specifically in Ableton Live and Logic Pro X, synthesis and mixing/mastering audio but tailoring these techniques to fit whatever projects and tracks you're working on.

Are you musical trained, confident enough with your instrument but finding frustrating coming up with your own compositions? Finding difficult to get idea for a new song, need suggestions for your lyrics, or just a simple understanding on a song structure? This class is based in songwriting and musical performance. I will provide any tips and suggestion to get a song done and don't get stuck between lyrics or chords. I'll be focussing in songwriting structure across different genre, pop, folk, blues, jazz. I will be also structuring the classes giving home exercise working on new sketches every week across those different genres, and diverse themes. Once the song will be completed I'll give any sort of advice on how to perform a song to an audience. How to structure a show and organise you band if you have one. During the lesson I'll be using piano as main instrument and singing. I am also confident in guitar if required. Songwriting and performance for me are quite related. Hello, I'm Jungmi, a professional jazz pianist and composer. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Piano and a degree in Jazz Composition from the Maastricht Conservatory. As the leader of the Little Big Jazz Orchestra, which I founded in 2022, I explore rich emotional landscapes through expressive melodies, intricate harmonies, and unique orchestrations. My orchestra has received recognition, including a nomination for the Maastricht Jazz Awards, the Audience Award, and performances at festivals such as Jazz Out Fest and Make It Jazz Festival in Tilburg. We were also finalists for the Edmond Hustinx Prize and received an Honorable Mention at the Laren Jazz Festival 2024. Currently, we are preparing for our debut album release. In addition to performing, I offer lessons in jazz piano, composition, and music theory. It can be jazz, pop and gospel music. Experienced teacher of Oud and oriental Arabic singing for over 11 years, I am Lebanese and currently residing in Germany. I studied for 8 years at the Lebanese National Conservatory. I taught at the Casa Beethoven Academy in Lebanon and gave private lessons. In addition, I was conductor of the Loubnan Assalam oriental orchestra for over 5 years. My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run. Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else. My experience runs mostly in early and classical music with an active performing life, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals. As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborate with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs.
