History, general culture and methodology courses

currently in bac + 2, I wish to become a teacher of schools. What motivates me in life is to envy young children to study, to love learning and to understand. I adapt according to each student, my methods will not be the same from one child to another. However, what characterizes my method would be the playful side. I like to take the original course to make it something attractive. That is to say that it will not be more to learn history but a story. That's how I was able, during my civic service or I helped young people in difficulty, to make taste material to students who had abhorrent courses. It is not easy task but with good humor we get there!

French: These courses may lead to a discovery of classical works but also to revisions on the rules of grammar and spelling. Philosophy: The concepts of the great philosophers will be detailed here with a simplistic approach. English: With a B2 level certification, I can help with preparation for the TOEC, such as the baccalaureate or the patent. History: Depending on levels and programs, I can adapt to the student, even if I have a preference for the history of the twentieth century.

I have taken a few years off to complete my PhD in History and I would not like to stop teaching and learning in the meantime. I guess it is a cliché, but it is amazing what I have learned by teaching. If anything can distinguish me, it is that my personal experience has shown me that, when it comes to learning, complexities such as age are simply that. I offer you a German course that is not like the others. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you travel back and forth by train every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Memorise the timetable. 2) Realise that the train comes every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in textbooks and in normal lessons, the first approach is used - in the course I am offering you, it is the second approach because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both pupils and adults who want to learn the German language without time-consuming detours through the madness of fruitless school methods. Learning is easy, but unlearning things that have become bad habits is extremely difficult. This makes it all the more important to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, with my customised lessons you will greatly accelerate the learning process while having a positive attitude. I offer German lessons for individuals or groups (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive science and historical linguistics in particular. My modular programme can be adapted on a case-by-case basis. The converging point of these modules is your independence in spontaneous conversations in real life. What will not be covered in the course: learning lists of verbs; learning lists of nouns with articles; learning words with their translations; flashcards; doing school exercises; following the syllabus of a booklet; imposing the English grammar on the German language. What is particularly important to me: to motivate my student and to give him a learning rhythm; to encourage his creativity; to befriend him with the language; the letters and their sounds; to strengthen the memory by training the phonological loop; to teach blueprints instead of memorising sentences; to explain how the language works in order to make my student independent as quickly as possible; to eliminate common preconceptions, such as that 'der' would mean masculine and 'die' feminine, that the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, that verbs would be irregular, that declension would be random and therefore would have to be learnt with each verb...; to put practice at the centre and only deal with grammar where necessary. Law is a plural subject, I offer law courses in particular on methodology, help with course revision as well as support with your homework. My method will be based on a multi-stage learning process that will consist of reviewing the student's revision and work methods while completing their work methods by taking care to reinforce the acquired bases and by deepening the legal concepts that can serve as support for their daily work. History and Political Science are intertwined subjects with multidisciplinary approaches. To study one of these, one must understand the other. I hold Bachelor's Degrees in both History and Political Science (from the University of Florida), as well as a Master's in Political Science, specifically European Politics (from KU Leuven). Additionally, previously I have been a journalist (dealing with Competition Law) and currently am an editor working on a wide variety of subjects for organizations such as the UNHCR and Goethe Institut, among others. Having obtained my Engineering degree in June 2018 and currently working as a Software Engineer in an IT company, I want to share my knowledge acquired during my studies with people of all ages in the Brussels region.
