Zelf ben ik voornamelijk werkzaam als schrijver van theaterteksten, maar ik heb ook ervaring met het schrijven van liedteksten, literaire vertalingen, essays etc.. Alle teksten benader ik dus vanuit een creatieve insteek en artistieke visie. Als theaterauteur houd ik me ook bezig met hoe een tekst klinkt - klinkt het niet prettig, dan kan hij vast beter geschreven worden. Als coach richt ik me vooral op het geven van feedback op de teksten die je schrijft en help ik je graag op weg met opdrachten om te beginnen met schrijven en/of om het gevreesde writersblock af te schudden. Vind je het fijner om meer stil te staan bij theorie rond het schrijven, dan help ik je daar natuurlijk ook graag bij. /// As a writer (mainly playwriting, but also songs, columns, literary translations and essays) I'm very interested in helping you either to start writing, or to better your writing. We'll work mostly by practicing and discussing your work. If you prefer to zoom in on theoretics, I'm happy to guide you in that as well. I'm a professional playwriter and dramaturg (and studied at LUCA School of Arts with Nico Boon, Freek Mariën and Nathan Vecht). I previously taught playwriting in different groups (CREA, Buitenkunst) and work as a scriptadvisor for professional theatre makers. Besides that, I often help people in writing resumes, papers and thesis papers.

I currently work as a private language teacher in Belgium and I have a good level of English. As I am not a native speaker, I do not give advanced lessons. People from any age, including kids, can follow my English lessons for levels A1, A2 and B1.

For the teaching purposes, throughout the classes, I will use different highly-rated textbooks of local editions, effective YouTube channels, interesting articles. I will cover main functional areas of English grammar and vocabulary within different areas and will make sure that you start speaking since the first class already, since Practice Makes Perfect and English is not so difficult as it may seem at first! As the official Faculty Proofreader for the Institute of Philosophy at the KU Leuven, I have developed a deep understanding of the common struggles both professors and the wider student body face with respect to academic writing. Whether it be formal and linguistic errors or stylistic, structural, and argumentative issues, I gathered practical tools students can systematically employ to improve their academic writing—skills which coincide with the demands of a tutoring job. I’ve designed this course as the ultimate guide to academic writing, but that’s not it. Given my experience in debate clubs in Leuven, Brussels, and Munich, as well as in hosting highly successful discussion groups with students of all stripes, I can also teach you how to deliver fantastic presentations and get your point across in the most articulate manner. As a polyglot, I can give you examples in Arabic, Farsi, Urdu/Hindi, Punjabi, and German, so if you speak any of these languages, I’ll make sure you have an easier time learning English with me. With this course, I can teach a beginner how to speak English fluently but also creatively, I can teach an intermediate speaker how to take their language skills to the next level, and I can help an advanced English speaker sharpen their presentation skills and academic writing.

During the course with me you will have the opportunity to learn this new language in an entertaining and motivating way. We are going to work both the field of reading, writing, pronunciation and comprehension together. I offer diverse and dynamic activities where I prioritize the participation of the student and the conversation between us. Being a native I can offer you the most concrete learning of verbiage in Spanish or Catalan and work on phonetics. I also offer English classes since I have the C1 English certificate (Cambridge School) and I have been in an English academy (Fun English School) during a course teaching English to children between 3 and 18 years old.

I am a Research Master’s student in Philosophy at the KU Leuven from Toronto Canada. My native language is English and I also have background knowledge of French, however, I don’t speak it well. I teach private English lessons in the Brussels and Leuven area. I have experience working with adults and children of all ages and backgrounds. My academic career has provided me with a high level of proficiency in English, including an understanding of language structure, syntax and grammar. I am especially competent in teaching: - Conversation skills - Grammar - Academic writing - Business English . I am available monday-friday as well as the weekends.

I obtained a BA degree in English Language and Literature, as well as an English MA degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology at KU Leuven. This academic background has laid the foundation for my theoretical knowledge of the English language, especially my reading and writing skills. Additionally, I spent a semester in Dublin in order to improve my 'hands-on' speaking skills. I have a genuine passion for the English language which I hope to pass on to my students. For my classes, I sit down with students to discuss their needs, and attune my course content accordingly. I try to combine theory with practice to keep the classes interesting and lively. Listening and reading skills are especially important in the learning process as they are essential elements to developing an intuitive sense of a language. Furthermore, I attempt to incorporate audiovisual material in order to keep the course content engaging. For the past two decades, I've had the privilege of tutoring in both French and English. Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind. I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics. What will not be the subject of the course: learn lists of verbs; learn lists of nouns with their gender; learn words with their translations; memory card game; doing school exercises; follow the program in a notebook; impose French grammar on the Latin language. What matters to me in particular: motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm; encourage creativity; make friends with language; letters and their sounds strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop; teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart; explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible; breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ; place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice.
