English Language Lessons for Children and/or Adults

In a personal learning route you walk on your own level and at your own pace through vocabulary, grammar and especially talking. No school stuff, but a lot of variety to stimulate your GOESTING for the language and give a boost to your self-confidence. YES, YOU CAN! I am a certified language teacher (NL-ENG) with many years of experience in schools, adult education and companies, and consider me a 'language desire architect'. Together we open doors in a creative way, we bring the world a piece of 'on your doorstep'. And, who knows, in the near future you will have a (linguistic) lump richer!

The course will be adapted to the student's goals, either help with academic classes or to develop speaking, listening, and reading skills. Improve your English with one on one theory classes and practice. I have a TOEFL certificate and an American education. I speak French and Arabic.

French and English are such beautiful and useful langages. With me you'll be able to practice your writing, reading, listening but also your speaking skills without any judgement. We'll have funny discussions and I'll show you that French is not that difficult. Having langages skills looks great on a CV but also enables you to show off to your friends and family. For children, I had many experiences as an English tutor in France, I would be very pedagogical to help kids learn while having fun.

As a native English speaking American, I aim to improve my student's breadth of grammar and understanding of the English language through one-on-one and group lessons, advancing from any level. Having spent all my life in the United States, I also can train my students on the American vernacular and culture. I have a minor in English Literature from a college in Chicago.

I offer classes for two different groups: - Young adults preparing for TOEFL/GRE with sessions focused on solving exercises from the exams and improving the student's skills - Academic English for researchers and people in academia, where we focus on methods, format and language of academic texts. Sessions could be focused on review the student paper A little about myself. I am a Researcher. I lived in the USA twice, as an exchange Student at MIT for a year and as a J1 worker at McDonald's for 3 months. I scored 103 and 112 in the two times I did the TOEFL exam, and I scored at the 99% math percentile in my GRE score. I was born in Brazil, and I am a native Portuguese speaker. I have lived in Leuven for five years, so we can communicate in basic Dutch.

I specialize in effective communication skills. With english as my native language, i also teach presentation skills, build motivation and look for ways to bring out the best side in my students. I have been a trainer for IELTS, a speaker and mentor at UNODC, and an AIESEC teacher for softskills. This class is a base for people aspiring to be brought to their best capabilities while being emotionally hindered, and the class also promotes the accurate use of english and effective communication. Apart from general English language learning, this type of classes will focus more on English business vocabulary, business writing, business conversation and listening comprehension. This class would be suitable for people who plan (or already do) to study business/economics, want to enhance business skills for the business trips/clients, want to communicate and network effectively with international people in English. For this class I will use several books as materials (popular editions) dedicated to Business English growth. I will involve much conversational practice and discussion activities of specific topics. The material (books, texts, exercises) will be shared with a student. All the classes and preparation for them will be adapted to each student individually. I currently work as a private language teacher in Belgium and I have a good level of English. As I am not a native speaker, I do not give advanced lessons. People from any age, including kids, can follow my English lessons for levels A1, A2 and B1.

Economics classes for University level students will be based on student's needs (some suggestions: Econometrics, Microeconomics, Quantitative Economics). For school students, it can involve advanced learning or basic Economic knowledge (aligned to student's needs). English classes will involve writing and speaking practice (based on the student's existing knowledge). I tend to explain things pretty well. I always try to assign homework for further practice. Times can be discussed with me and I do accommodate students based on mutual availability.

As you acquire a new skill or enhance the proficiency of a new language skill, you will be guided in grammar, vocabulary, conversations, dictions and oral articulations to aide you in communicating better with other English speakers worldwide...conversational dates, outdoor excursions & day-day routine exercise can be requested. Want to Learn English from a native speaker? I will be offering tutoring exclusively through English. The structure of the class will have a focus on spoken communication on a 1 vs 1 basis. English can be a hard language to learn so I intend to keep the class light and easy to follow. Notes will be provided on vocabulary and grammar to establish a basis of knowledge and focus will be given on how to pronounce words in the given context. Also, I will give feedback on how to structure your written sentences. The class can take place wherever is convenient. Depending on your level of understanding, I can tailor the class to your fluency. Therefore, the aim of the tutoring is to: Improve spoken communication Improve understanding of grammar, vocabulary Improve syntax of sentences to sound like a native speaker My CV can be provided upon request.

As the official Faculty Proofreader for the Institute of Philosophy at the KU Leuven, I have developed a deep understanding of the common struggles both professors and the wider student body face with respect to academic writing. Whether it be formal and linguistic errors or stylistic, structural, and argumentative issues, I gathered practical tools students can systematically employ to improve their academic writing—skills which coincide with the demands of a tutoring job. I’ve designed this course as the ultimate guide to academic writing, but that’s not it. Given my experience in debate clubs in Leuven, Brussels, and Munich, as well as in hosting highly successful discussion groups with students of all stripes, I can also teach you how to deliver fantastic presentations and get your point across in the most articulate manner. As a polyglot, I can give you examples in Arabic, Farsi, Urdu/Hindi, Punjabi, and German, so if you speak any of these languages, I’ll make sure you have an easier time learning English with me. With this course, I can teach a beginner how to speak English fluently but also creatively, I can teach an intermediate speaker how to take their language skills to the next level, and I can help an advanced English speaker sharpen their presentation skills and academic writing.

My classes are completely tailored to your needs. I identify the gaps you have with English in the first lesson and after that work with you to boost your speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities. I offer a teaching experience that will increase your confidence with and understanding of the English language, and focus on pronunciation, grammar, understanding difficult accents, texts and newspaper articles, writing emails, and many other areas. Classes are either 60 minutes or 2 hours, but if preferred, we can arrange custom-length classes.
