Guitar lessons for (absolute) beginners with electric or classical guitar

Hey! Have you always wanted to learn to play the piano but aren't sure where to start? Or maybe you just want to take your piano playing to the next level? In either case, you can come to me for piano and theory lessons tailored to your needs! Are you a fan of pop/jazz music rather than classical? We can easily take care of this too! As a young student, I am often closer to the practice of teaching and can sense where the student's goals lie. Very flexible throughout the week and weekends, either at the student's home, at my grand piano, or possibly online (especially music theory).

I give piano and music theory/ music writing (composition) classes in regions Brussels and Leuven. I have studied in Italy (piano) and at Brussels Conservatoire (music writing). I like sharing my artistic knowledge and experience with motivated students of all ages and varied backgrounds. In my teaching method I try to focus on the strong points and qualities of the student in order to build up technical skills which will help the student to overcome difficulties in a simple and natural way. It is crucial for me to make the student able to express their personality in an autonomous and creative way.

My name is Davy, I am 34 years old and have had the guitar in my fingers for 25 years. I graduated from the Music Academy Tongeren for both classical and electric guitar. In addition, I attended 2 years of Conservatory Jazz at LUCA School of Arts Campus Lemmens Institute. I started teaching in various situations since I was 16, both group lessons and individual lessons on instrument and music theory. Sharing my knowledge with others has always been a great passion. That is why I now offer private lessons tailored to my needs where I live in Leuven. This for both acoustic, classical and electric guitar in a range of styles. What you can expect is not a fixed course that we go over from A to Z, but a course that we build ourselves, as it were, focused on your musical taste, knowledge and goal on your instrument. Together with you, I will look at how I can teach you the necessary basics in a way that you can use it best for the genres you want to learn to play. I look forward to going on this musical journey of discovery with you!

Have you always wanted to play guitar or had the musical curiosity to develop your skills on a 6-string? Or maybe you’d like your children to learn an instrument? Learning guitar is a great way to further explore your own capabilities and to develop a deeper enjoyment and understanding of music. Music is, also, a very powerful tool for emotional self-regulation. I have years of experience performing for live audiences with local bands in different countries (Mexico, USA, Germany, Belgium), from rock, metal, blues, indie, pop, and even folk. I always adapt my lessons to the student’s intuition and to what the student wants to achieve (from learning their favorite songs to particular techniques). To enjoy and have fun playing is always very central to my lessons. You can also add basic music theory, and some singing techniques to broaden your musical experience (only the basic singing lessons would represent an extra cost). Let’s awaken the dormant artist in you!

Piano lessons adapted to your taste and level. You tell us what you expect from the lessons so that I can give you optimal piano lessons. For example: you want to learn to read and play piano pieces. I must also give you the relevant theory. It is your choice to study additional theory, but it is not necessary. My lessons are therefore efficiently oriented. As a student, you can ultimately choose which piano pieces we work on (it must first be approved by me), so that playing the piano remains fun and educational. I cover classical music, pop music, video games, movies, anime music, etc... so many genres! Another example: you want to make a piano cover of an existing piece (e.g. pop music or movie music). I will give you the theory of chords and reading staves. This way you can get started quickly. Together we will practice enough so that you understand everything well! We can also improvise together on your piano. Feel free to message us if you have any questions :) I have already given private lessons to adults, teenagers and children both online and in person. Both options work great! We do this online via Skype or another app if desired. Physically we do it in Leuven city centre, where there is a handy large indoor bicycle shed. Ideally I teach once a week, you then continue practicing on your piano at home towards the next lesson the following week. If you would like lessons every other week or lessons twice a week, that is also possible for me. Why choose to learn to play the piano? It has been scientifically proven that playing an instrument makes someone smarter (good brain training). You can show your piano skills to others, but you can also make yourself happy and reward through your piano. I am passionate about teaching guitar! Over the last 10 years I have been teaching students from ages 7-70 from complete beginners to advanced players with one thing in common - their wish to play guitar more comfortably and have fun while doing it! I am a classical guitarist with a background in pedagogy, psychology and physiotherapy, my approach - methodical. While working on the things you want to improve and learn I will also help you develop a deep understanding of the theory and principles that music is built upon. Our lessons will be exploratory and imaginative whilst also underpinned by technical knowledge so that you can enjoy playing comfortably and without pain. If you want to learn to play the clarinet, make further progress or learn solfège, you've come to the right place! I offer both solfège and clarinet lessons for beginners and more advanced students. I live in Leuven but I am available throughout Brussels and Leuven. Lessons are possible in Dutch, French or English. If you take the time to learn the clarinette, read the progress and receive the course of the solfège, you will enjoy the end! You propose the course of solfège and clarinette for the debutants and the young people plus advances. Your habit in Louvain is always available in Brussels and Louvain. Are you a beginner who has started to learn guitar on his own, and can't see the trees for the wood anymore? Or do you already have some experience and want to learn something new? Then you've come to the right place! About myself: I have been playing both guitar and bass guitar for 8 years. I also have a solid foundation in music theory. I took lessons with Kristof Neyens (rock school leuven) for several years, and now I would like to share my experience. Classes: Depending on your preference, we can draw up a lesson plan together with individual assignments. I also try to work as much as possible with the genres that you like to listen to yourself, this is of course more motivating (after all, you don't want to try to teach Mozart to a Metal fan ;)) My approach is certainly not like that of the 'music theory' at the academy. From your first lesson you will immediately start playing songs. I only use music theory if it is really necessary or if you would like to delve into it. Practical: I follow distance education so I can actually go at any time of the week, online lessons are also a possibility. Reading, understanding, playing and writing music. I offer lessons for children and adults, no matter the level. In my lessons, in addition to learning technique and the instrumental repertoire (clarinet), you learn the language of music in all its facets (solfeggio, rhythmics, dictation, harmony, elements of composition). The method I use varies for each individual student and depends not only on his/her level, but on what interests him/her most and what serves his/her artistic growth. I am Ezio, I am Italian and I moved to Belgium to continue my studies. I have a degree in clarinet, I also studied conducting for wind orchestras, musical propaedeutics and also theatre and theatre therapy. I have worked with youth bands and taught in two music schools in Sicily. I am always interested in new methodologies and everything that can make learning not only functional, but also a real pleasure.
