Help in mathematics for a maturity/high school level and first year of higher education

Hello ! I am a master's student in computer science at EPFL with a passion for teaching, I offer tutoring in mathematics, physics and computer programming. With my experience as a tutor for high school students, I have developed a personalized teaching approach adapted to the needs of each student. As a 3rd year physics student at ETH, I offer private lessons in mathematics as well as academic support for middle school, high school/gymnasium and first year university students. I mainly base myself on the progressive resolution of exercises, to understand where the difficulties come from and to be able to overcome them. I listen and adapt to the student in order to understand their perspective. I can thus approach problems in the way that suits him best, which allows me to create solid foundations and establish an excellent understanding of the subject. A progressive approach to exercises and regular practice builds self-confidence and allows for great improvement over the long term! I have already taught students from: - Swiss Gymnasium -French high school and college - European School - EPFL - Paris Polytechnic School I therefore know the habits of these schools and can easily adapt to the program of the students I accompany. During lessons via ZOOM, I use a tablet that allows me to write directly on the student's screen.

I offer both reinforcement and in-depth courses, adapted to the students' pace and the teachers' requirements. With 10 years of experience in individual monitoring and 5 years in front of diverse classes, I do not offer so much academic support as lively and interactive courses, whose key words are kindness and encouragement. Familiar with the Swiss and French programs as well as the IB, I know the frequent and less frequent sticking points that students encounter, as well as the classic exercises that must be redone absolutely and those that go further. My method: Understanding and assimilating the course are at the heart of everything, and that is why I particularly insist on this point which often requires filling in gaps from previous years. Concrete illustrations and targeted training then facilitate these famous understanding triggers which allow the student to finally release their full potential. We always proceed in stages: course - classic exercises - more advanced exercises, with obviously homework from one time to the next to anchor the knowledge and develop the autonomy necessary to solve complex problems. This course is intended for people who want tutoring or special help in order to prepare for the matriculation exams, or even those at university. I teach all school math subjects, as well as college-level analysis and algebra. If you need support in your lessons or your school exams I would be happy to prepare you and allow you to improve quickly. I can also allow you to get ahead of your program and learn mathematical concepts at university level (up to the second year of engineering school). My experience with university and college students allows me to easily adapt my pedagogy to all levels in order to get the best out of it. Classes take place mainly at my home or on the EPFL campus, I can also travel by public transport to your home.

Master's student in physics having obtained the baccalaureate with very good honors (19.8/20 general average) I happily help in learning mathematics and sciences in general which made me want to study at the EPFL and to come to KTH afterwards. Having several young nephews and nieces and having regularly carried out baby sittings, I am used to supervising children. For those attending EPFL, I can give classes in person. Otherwise, I am also available for online courses. The topics and course delivery are agreed with the students according to their specific needs. They can include both theoretical explanations and the carrying out of practical exercises. From my own experience, I have found that everyone can understand the most complex concepts, you just need to adopt the right approach and teaching method, which varies from person to person. As it is not always possible to make this important distinction in general courses, my intention is to provide those who need it with help in catching up with the program by filling in gaps and/or doubts. I do not favor a mnemonic approach, but rather a deep understanding of the subject.

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the area of operations research and I propose the following classes: The key to success in mathematics is to learn how to think outside-the-box. This valuable ability helps mathematicians to solve real problems in today’s world. This course helps to develop that crucial ability and, thus, to understand mathematics.
