Come and discover your own voice and its possibilities with me. I am a lyric singer (mezzosoprano) and I give lessons for all levels in French, English, German and Dutch. I am a lyrical singer, mezzosoprano, with a classical training. After starting my studies in Brussels, Belgium, I moved to Berlin, to study at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler. This is where I got to take lessons with some of the most important singers and pianists in the business, in such an inspiring city. After living in Berlin for 2 years, I spent 6 months in New York, before coming to Switzerland in September 2019 to finish my master's degree in lyric singing at the Haute École de Musique. Apart from my training, I have already sung recitals and festivals in Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, Brussels and Vienna. I also participated in many international singing competitions; in Europe and the United States. I am especially passionate about classical music, specifically opera, but at the same time I also adore jazz, musical, and all other genres. My goal in giving singing lessons is to help you find and develop your own voice. I want to help you become as free as possible by singing, so that singing becomes even more fun and you feel able to do with your voice what YOU want to do. In my pedagogical approach, I clearly separate the vocal technique and the art of singing, that is to say the management of an objective mechanism, physical and physiological, of sound production (articulation of the language, management of the pressures subglottic and supra-glottic to achieve a pneumo-phono-resonantial balance), and the shaping of this sound to achieve musical beauty (make a beautiful "legato" line, tempo variations, nuances, etc.). ). My classes are different depending on your level and age. For my older students ideally, I divide our lesson into 2 sections. We work on respiration and how the diaphragm works. We do scales and arpeggios and work on intonation. As an Italian Opera singer, I help since many years singers with the right pronunciation of the repertoire they sing, helping them in shaping the language in a clear way, which also helps the singing. Our lesson will involve speaking, pronunciation exercises and singing. We will start the lesson by reading the text and finding the right direction and emphasis. We will focus on the sounds and how to produce them. In the second part of the lesson, we will apply all of the above to the singing!

My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education. My experience runs mostly in early and chamber music, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals. As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborated with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs.
