I am a native American English speaking instructor, editor, journalist, and legal/policy expert from Florida specializing in instruction, interview and exam prep, consulting and text correction for a wide range of professionals & students across Belgium including in the legal, academic, policy, and other fields. As well, I can provide extensive help and training with the EPSO, IELTS, and TOEFL exams. I have spent my entire childhood and adult life in the United States before completing a master's degree in Political Science and European Politics at KU Leuven. Additionally, I also possess Bachelor's degrees in Political Science and History. I have an extensive knowledge and experience of English grammar and literature, as well as current and past working experience in journalism (Anti-Competition Law and European Policy at the Policy and Regulatory Report) and both European and American politics. French pronunciation is a real challenge. The verbo tonal method, often used by speech therapists, is particularly suitable for correcting French pronunciation for those of you who are not French speakers but also for French speakers who wish to get rid of an accent. We will work on the sounds of the language integrated into the sentence, the rhythm, the intonation and considered as a living and evolving system. This method is very effective. You will see your progress very quickly and your self-confidence will allow you to overcome any reluctance you may have had before to express yourself in public. For others, having a more neutral pronunciation in French can be a significant asset professionally.

Mastering the language of Molière, both beautiful and complex, is not easy even for native speakers. This is why I offer French as a foreign language courses that are more focused on oral practice, but always coupled with a theoretical basis. I adapt to the pace and preferences of each person, on the topic of conversation that interests them. For beginners, I suggest starting with everyday vocabulary, expressions of standard French and/or specific to the country. For the more advanced, we can start discussions on a subject that fascinates them from their language to French.

You should know that the target language, into which we translate, is French, so the French courses in Translation are super advanced. I studied the CAP (Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitudes) for 8 years, with courses in Psychopedagogy, Didactics of Disciplines, Education Law, Education Communication, etc. I am very caring. The best way to learn a language is to practice it, listen to it and read it! This is why, as far as possible, the lessons will be given IN English, in order to train both your ear and to push you to answer/think in English. A large part of the learning will go through the oral practice of the language: you will be invited to express yourself on various subjects that interest you.
