I am a native American English speaking instructor, editor, journalist, and legal/policy expert from Florida specializing in instruction, interview and exam prep, consulting and text correction for a wide range of professionals & students across Belgium including in the legal, academic, policy, and other fields. My past & present clients have included: professionals and politicians from all four major EU institutions, the Belgian government, the UNHCR, and various NGOs, alongside diplomats, doctors, journalists, and engineers, as well as a variety of other professions in addition to traditional students..I have had over 50+ repeat students on Apprentus (which recently changed their algorithm to only display the last six months). Approaching from a true native's perspective, I instruct and assist with both educational and business English in a multi-faceted nature covering a wide range of areas including comprehension, conversation, grammar, and situational skills, in addition to working on general language skills and accent training. As well, I can provide extensive help and training with the EPSO, IELTS, and TOEFL exams. I have also written, edited or proofread a variety of academic papers, theses, applications, CVs, and other documents for numerous satisfied academic and professional clients. I have spent my entire childhood and adult life in the United States before completing a master's degree in Political Science and European Politics at KU Leuven. Additionally, I also possess Bachelor's degrees in Political Science and History. I have an extensive knowledge and experience of English grammar and literature, as well as current and past working experience in journalism (Anti-Competition Law and European Policy at the Policy and Regulatory Report) and both European and American politics. In Belgium, Dutch is a necessity, from primary school to professional life. Whether it is to succeed in a Dutch course at primary, secondary, university or high school, or to land a job or communicate more easily with your colleagues, I have the course you need ! With a mixture of theory (grammar, vocabulary) and various exercises, I adapt to your needs and desires. Do you work in a particular field that requires specific vocabulary? I gradually include it in the lessons so that learning the language is as useful as possible to you. A little more about me: I am quadrilingual (French, English, Spanish and Dutch) and I love sharing my knowledge with other people. I have already given various English and Dutch lessons.

Mastering the language of Molière, both beautiful and complex, is not easy even for native speakers. This is why I offer French as a foreign language courses that are more focused on oral practice, but always coupled with a theoretical basis. I adapt to the pace and preferences of each person, on the topic of conversation that interests them. For beginners, I suggest starting with everyday vocabulary, expressions of standard French and/or specific to the country. For the more advanced, we can start discussions on a subject that fascinates them from their language to French.

As a linguist, I never judge a speaker no matter how good or bad they are. I have every needed skill to help you to make your speaking closer to the standard French spoken in Belgium or France. I continually adapt the teaching (phonetics, grammar, syntax, etc...) to the needs of the students. According to your needs, we can work on speaking, writing, or both.

I aim my lesson at Dutch speakers who want to learn French, who have difficulties with it at school, or who simply want to refine their conversation skills. French is my native language, and I have studied Latin and Greek, which gave me a deeper understanding of French grammar and language.

I'm a 33 years old french teacher and I've been living here in Brussels for 11 years, 8 of them as a french teacher. Before that I studied political sciences and had a couple of experiences in public communication. As a teacher, I gave classes in languages centers (such as Berlitz or Semantics), so I worked and continue working in different environments like lawyer cabinets, hospitals, companies or NGO based in Brussels or with people learing french through unemployment programs). But I also give private lessons, like the one we might do together. This brought me to work with different linguistic, cultural and professionnal backgrounds as well as with very different age classes (from 5 to 65). My class is essentially based on improving communication skills, that is to say that I give an advantage to the practice of verbal expression, through simulations (of professional situations, like doing a public presentation or conducting a meeting,...) and conversation (around documents and medias like articles, audiovisual items,...). Nevertheless, when learning or doing the revision of grammar points is needed, I organize grammar items to work on too (the use of the subjonctif, la concordance des temps, how to express hypothesis,...). For that, I use primarly the book Grammaire Progressive du Français but can also use different material (I worked with some product of the editions Alter Ego more centered on workplace oriented needs for example). So my methode is "taylor-made" as I adapt the content around the needs of each students in term of their communication objectives.
